This historic dark beer derives its rich chocolate character from a unique blend of pale. crystal, brown and chocolate malts. Fuggles hops give the beer the smooth and satisfying finish which makes London Porter perfect for many occasions, and such a fine after-dinner drink. Gold medal winner in its class at the 1999 International Food and Drinks Exhibition, London Porter's quality was once more acclaimed at the 2000 International Beer and Cider Competition where it won silver medal in its class

This one pours an almost opaque ruby-black, with a moderately sized cookie-brown head. Definite toasted malt aroma, with a little cookie sweetness mixed in. Tastes wonderful, has a nice silky mouthfeel. Start a little bitter-sweet, and finished a mite sweeter. I loved it.

The beer pours a thick black pour with a thin creamy dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, nuts, coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. Flavor is similar with a sweet chocolate and bready malt start, and a bitter coffee finish. The best beer I've had in a long time.

    Can/Bottle/Draught
Aroma: roasted malt, toffee, nuts, coffee
Appearance: very dark brown, solid, laces well, medium brown coloured head, very creamy
Mouthfeel: full bodied, well carbonated, coats mouth esquisitely
Flavour: Nicely balanced between the toffee and chocolate sweetness and the bitter notes of the roasted malt and coffee flavours
Overall: There is a reason the 'London Porter' is the gold standard. It looks good, it tastes good, and it reminds everybody of what a True Porter should be.

Quite possibly the best porter brewed anywhere in the world. A solid coca cola colour with a thick creamy light brown head. Rich notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee fill the nostrils before later tingling the tongue with the addition of dark fruits and caramel. An excellent beer.

Clear mahogany with persistent white head. Complex aroma - dried fruit, coffee, cocoa powder. Taste is the same, lots going on - starts with roasted malt bitterness, then fruity notes merge with coffee and tobacco or leather flavors.

On tap at Pub Italia. Pours a small creamy frothy beige head and has a dark amber appearance with ruby red highlights. Thick lacing. Aromas of light chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Flavours of toffee, dark malts, coffee notes and some hints of molasses. Has a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Very good stuff!

500 ml capped bottle. Poured in a snifter an unfiltered and hazy dark-dark-brown coloured Porter with a generous one finger dense, creamy and tan foamy head that had a long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Low carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, intense roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate and spicy with a touch of licorice. The flavour is a full roasted bunch, roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, riped fruits, plums, raisins and a spicy touch, licorice. The mouthfeel is creamy, fulled, quite thick and bitter. The texture is oily. This medium to full bodied Porter has a long roasted malts and roasted coffee beans finish. A delightful, characterful Porter from the Empire's capital.

Had this beer many times.Didn't think I would have rated it this high but the numbers add up. Dark brown pour with a great head.Fair retention and lacing. Mild roasted malt and chocolaty aroma. Flavour has moderate roastiness, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Medium body. Good breakfast beer.
