Pours a clear copper colour with little to no head. Watery on the palate, and noticeable metallicy taste. Aroma is soft almonds and caramel malts. Finish is slightly hopped but mostly watery.

There seem to be so many Amber Ales that fit this profile; they have all the right ingredients, they’re good to look at, and they may even smell great; but it’s the taste that reveals them as imposters or underachievers. This dark amber beer has a thick, creamy white head and the nose is all hops and raw grain. The taste is mostly hops, but tinny and unfinished with no balanced caramel or other malt sweetness. The finish, too, is thin and short. While this can be a terrific style when done right, this beer just doesn’t measure up.
