As promised Founders Brewing Company has created something unlike the rest. Amongst this summers over crowded race to cloudy wheat beers we have decided to embark down a path all to our own. By using only fresh raspberries Rubaeus translates into intense flavors combined with a no hesitation malt bill. At 7% ABV this is definitely beer. In fermentation we add fresh raspberries at five separate stages throughout the fermentation life cycle to achieve the ultimate balance between tartness and sweetness. This beer is a tribute to Founders way of brewing…. Brewing Beer We Want To Drink

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger (also available there on 355 ml bottles). Red colour, thin off-white head. Strong and lovely aroma of ripe raspberries and raspberry flowers. Medium sweet flavour, distinct notes of raspberries throughout, refreshing. Nice fruit beer.

Ipours a hazy rose color with small white head that fades quickly leaving little lace. The aroma is raspberry with a hint of malt. The taste is sweet raspberry. The mouthfeel is light bodied and very refreshing!!! Very tasty!!

4-pack in Woodbury, VT. Hazy amber colour with a pink hue. Pink-white head with decent lacing. Sweet nose of the fruitiness of the raspberries with some yeast in the finish. Same for the taste with some light tart from the sweet yeast. A nice sweet and fruity raspberry beer. Good for one, as gets rich.

Pours reddish copper with a fairly thick ivory head. Raspberry aroma reaches out and touches you from at least a half meter away; closer in, a bit of malt asserts itself. Slightly sour raspberry dominates the flavor, taking up the stage so malt can barely get your attention. I LOVE raspberries, but I like raspberry beer to have a little more of malt and even hops, merci, danke, gracias, arigato. Firm, fizzy texture leaves a decidedly raspberry finish. Hmmmmmm, what would raspberry wine be like?

Pours a crimson red with not much of any head. Well carbonated in the glass. Aroma is heavy on the raspberries with a slight wine-like backing. Taste is heavy on raspberries with slight hints of candy sugar, wine, and sours. Overall a nice fruit beer.

Pours out red hued dark brown with a slight white head. The aroma is RASPBERRIES ! The mouthfeel is solid with just a playful note of sour. The taste is all raspberry and makes for a good palate cleanser for the next stout and cigar.

A deeply dark mahogany colored beer with a decent, though small, three fingered, frothy textured, beige head rising above. There's some hang time. A persistent light film and medium ringlet are left. This is a very good fruit beer. Light, effervescence of raspberries and bready malt.

Bottle share with ~~NGD. Ruby amber pour, short head, some lacing. Tart raspberries upfront in the nose and taste, nice and not overly sweet, earthy and zesty, then more tartness as it warms a touch... then the berries sweeten up nicely. Very easy to drink, refreshing and flavorful. Thanks Jason.

I must admit, I was a bit curious about this. Glad that I tried a sample first, rather than buying a 4-pack or 12 oz. single. Not a bad beer, just a little too fruity for me, and I am figuring out raspberry brew just isn't for me. I guess this is a wheat, but kind of darker like a brown. Raspberry isn't fully overwhelming, but it is there for sure. Wouldn't turn one down, just not really gonna go out of my way for a full sample to try again.

I picked this beer up from the Wine Gourmet in Roanoke, Virginia. I am NOT a big "fruit beer" fan but this particular beer was really tasty and enjoyable. I would have this again.
