Bottle: Poured a cloudy amber color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet Belgian style malt with some nice notes of toffee. Taste is a nice enough mix between some sweet malt with some toffee and dry fruits characteristics. Body is quite full with some medium carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. Well done overall but lacking some complexities to be on par with the best of the style and maybe a tad too sweet.

This beer was quite confusing to me. I think that this was the first time I got these kinda of flavors in just one beer. In the nose there was that fake, Concord grape-syrup like smell, big soapy notes like sticking your nose in a bottle of Palmolive, rotten fruit and stinging alcohol. Appearance was a light amber color, mostly clear with a small white head. Mouthfeel was medium thick, a bit on the syrupy side. Flavor was a bunch of bubblegum, like the kind you'd get with baseball cards when you were a kid. There was some cherry-cough syrup in there, a bunch of alcohol (guess they forgot to hide it) an underlying dark bananna character which made it tough to drink. It could have been tons worse. It wasn't good, but far from being offensive. See my review of Skibsol for offensive.

Pours a dark reddish brown, with a 1/8 inch head that fades rapidly to a very thin, spotty cap, leaving behind minimal lacing. I really like the color, but the lack of head retention is a bit disapointing, even for a this high abv beer. Smell; very belgianesque, with candied sugar and somewhat yeasty. The dark fruits are pleasant, with cherries and plums, but there's also some bubblegum and a little banana. Taste; the bubblegum and bananas come out a bit more strongly in the flavor. The candied sugar has a significant presence, and the cherries and plums make a nice appearance as well. Not quite as good as the nose, but still nice. Mouthfeel is on the thin side, especially with the lack of carbonation to help out. Drinkability is not bad for such a big beer. Overall this is a beer I definitely preferred on tap as opposed o the bottle, but I still found it pretty enjoyable. Can't wait to see what Founders decides to bottle next.

This wasn't good at all. Poured a lighter colored brown akin to an amber ale, a decent head but little lacing. No aroma. None. I even got my nose wet trying to get something. Flavor was like sugar and alcohol and maybe some fruity esters. Really hot and astringent...tasted like some sort of household cleaner. Hard to drink. Bad surprise from a normally solid brewer.

What a waste, train wreck, waste of liver. Call it what you will but this one was nasty. Poured awful no head no lacing no nothing. Aroma was dark fruits and Alcohol. Flavor was caramel and alcohol. Just plain missed the boat on this beer. Back to the drawing board for founders for a Quad

A complete waste of the liver. This review really only needs one word: ALCOHOL. Really really sharp alcohol, hot alcohol. Pour was terrible, no head at all, no lacing at all. The aroma was fruity, grapes and cherries. Flavor was hard to pick up under all the alcohol, maybe some caramel under the fruity, grape, bananas, cherry, other dark fruits? Even a thin, although sticky, mouthfeel. A total mess of a quadrupel, sugary sharp alcohol disaster. Sorry, Founders, down there with Avery stuff.
