Chocolate malt and roasted barley provide the dark color and fully body of chocolate stout. Toasy accents and a hoppy dryness add to this smooth brew. An old time favorite you'll remember.

Pours out the darkest brown I've ever seen it's dang near black. The aroma Is faint with just a hint of chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium and the taste is mostly malt and barley with just a note of bitter chocolate. Also has the flavor of coffee.

It did pour a nice beige top, very good aroma's and the flavor was great.the body was kind of thin, the chocolate came through nicely.More like a lager in body and feel ,but a decent beer all the same.

Purchased at Total Wine in Summerlin, Vegas. Pours a dark brown colour with a creamy beige head, great retention and lots of foamy lace. Was expecting lots of chocolate in the nose, but seems like the hop is just a step on it. Wet mouthfeel, kind of thin-bodied. The hop calms down in the aromas and cacao and light vanilla surfaces. Taste of mild bitterness over the chocolate and roasted malts. Not the greatest, but can be nice for those who like their chocolate stouts hoppier. Way too thin for a stout.

Pours a black color with a very small head. Smell is of chocolate, roasted malts. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malts, some notes of coffee. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is very drinkable.

Sampled on 10/25/2012. This stout pours a dark black color from a 12 oz bottle. Small to medium sized beige/tan foamy head decent retention and lacing. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate and slightly sweet. A medium to lighter bodied stout. The malts are chocolate and coffee, roasty and semi sweet. The hops are earthy and herbal. Decent carbonation. Nice roasty malts and a decent chocolate flavor. Decent beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

A pretty standard stout. Dark in color. Small foamy textured, light beige head. Not much hang time. A thin ringlet is left behind. Roasty, cocoa chocolate, bitter coffee in a light bodied drink.

A nice dark brown/black color with some faint ruby highlights around the bottom. A tan head with some nice size and pretty good retention. Sort of soapy. Not as creamy as I had hoped. Left some pretty good lacing. A rather sharp, robust coffee note jumps out at me first. Smells a bit burnt and roasted. The chocolate is there, but it's not very prevelant. I detected a "red" bean type of aroma also. Like the kind you get in red beans and rice. That's different. Not balanced as well as I had hoped. The taste provided the coffee stab with the aforementioned "red" bean flavor. The chocolate seems to be pushed further in the backgound with the taste. Not very well balanced in the taste either. Small amounts of bitterness caressed the tongue. Medium mouthfeel that actually leaned a bit toward the thin side. It was just a tad watery also. It was smooth and left a scant amount of flavoring behind. Well, I had hoped this beer was goint to be really good. It wasn't horrible, but it paled in comparison to some other Stouts I've had. It was drinkable and I could have another, but I want something a bit more balanced and robust in my Stouts.

A decent sweet stout. A dark brown pour with a tan coloured head. Aroma was ropasted malt, milk chocolate, cocoa, and some hops. The flavour is just an alcohol based thin chocolate milk. Goes down well, but not very complex. Could have been more chocolatey.

the bottle is different, maybe the recipe too. underrated for sure. this is a super quaffable roasted malt, milk chocolate and hop elixr. a bit thin, like a dry stout, but very smooth, and the body fits with the flavor. better than 8 ball, not quite up to par with rogue
