Black Sheep, Black IPA A result of fortunate contradiction, Black Sheep, Black India Pale Ale is an elegantly blended array of bright citrus and earthly hop aromas with subtle notes of chocolate and coffee. It is especially smooth for its dark appearance, but contains a solid malt backbone, setting the stage for an artfully crafted arrangement of hops. Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5

12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a big fluffy light tan head that retains well and laces the glass some.

The aroma is sweet roast chocolate malt, some floral cola and fruit and piney hops and some roast.

The flavor is sweet chalky chocolate malts, a little fruit and a ton of roast ashy bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, lots of harsh ashy roast with some sweet cola. This was much smoother on tap.
