Unusual nose of vanilla and pepper with some floral notes. Very cloudy pale orange body is topped with a white head that leaves a nice skim coat and very good lace.( I think its really pretty but for style is should be clear unless unfiltered which it does not claim to be.) Mouth is spot on, medium bodied, slick, perfect carbonation. This sucker is bitter, more bitter than the 60 IBU indicates. I am very impressed, the hops are more for bittering than for flavor. (and not familiar with Warrior and Columbus hops.) Starts a bit sweet on the tongue with tropical fruit and some grapefruit, nice solid malt backbone is neutral to slightly toasty, bitter hits in at the end and the finish is somewhat dry but with a nice fruitiness. Fairly unique IPA that is simple on a wonderful way. Intersting, the lower scores here are basically saying that there is nothing "special" about this IPA which is exactly what I like about it.

Golden colored pour with a large white head and leaves a nice lace. Lemon Pledge aroma. Citrus and pine flavour. Not bad but many better to choose from.

Hazy yellow with off white thick lacing foam head. No aroma almost, taste is through and through truly bitter hops. Nice lasting bitter taste. (Zaandam 201205)

355 ml capped bottle. Poured in the original Flying Dog glass a clear rich golden-amber coloured IPA with a one finger beige foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Active carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is moderate malty, moderate piney hops, floral and fruity notes. The flavour is caramel malts, flowery, violet, fruity, nuts, citrus, grapefruits and a deep piney hoppy bitterness. The mouthfeel is prickly, crispy and a bit oily. This medium to full bodied IPA has a long hoppy bitter finish. More in the softer way, but overall a nice IPA.

An average IPA by all accounts. This beer wasn't bad but if I am picking up something from Flying Dog, you can bet it will be the Raging Bitch Belgian IPA 9/10 times. I picked this up because I was in a bar, wanted an IPA, and this is all that was available. Not great, not terrible -- average.

pretty average beer. decent balance with semi sweet malt and hops, but the hops don't pop. for an ipa, there are sooooo many others i'd pick up first. about what i expected, though.

Very clear amber/orange color with several bubbles streaming to the top. Some bright yellow highlights at the bottom. A decent sized off white head that was kind of fluffy and soapy. Pretty good retention and some ok lacing. Very nice floral, citrusy, piny smell. Very nice dose of grapefruit notes. Smells perfume-like even. As the brew warmed the aroma became a bit more tame, but it was still well balanced and appropriate. Very solid amount of grapefruit citrus along with the piny flavors in the taste. Considerable amount of hop bite. Resinous in the flavor with a mild bready malt background. Small touches of alcohol. Meduim, dry, smooth and mostly crisp mouthfeel. Small amounts of alcohol warmth. Covers the palate in a more than average way. As it warmed it lost some of it's dryness and became a little bit thin. Pretty good brew here. Decently balanced in all aspects. A worthy IPA. Very easily drinkable. Good for both Spring and Summer. A little high in ABV for a session brew, but it would still be easy to down a few.

It pours a light copper with a thick and slightly dimply white head and some lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, hops, citrus, and some spice. The mouthfeel is smooth and slightly rich. Flavors of caramel malts, tea leaves, hops, limes and citrus, yeast, and spices. Good!

Fairly standard IPA... pours a clear amber-orange with a moderate white head that lasts a bit and laces well. Requisite floral, hoppy, citrusy, piney notes in the nose and on the pallette. Clean, crisp finish. Decent selection.

Floral, hop aroma with a one-finger head and decent lacing. Golden-brown color with decent carbonation. Medium-bodied, with a floral, hop flavor balanced with a slight wheat and malt aftertaste. A decent beer that I would have again.
