Katy Trail is named after the trail paralleling the Missouri River. This is an American pale ale that is amber colored, with a balance of malt and hop flavor. The subtle citrus aroma is from the American cascade hop.

On tap at Waldo Pizza in KCMO. Nice malty sweet and bready with mild hop aroma. Copper with a red hue. Off white head with no lace. Complex and balanced. Caramel, hearty breads, and a good blend of hops. There’s a flavor that I can’t place, and it adds a little something to the beer also. Medium to full body. Very enjoyable. I’d drink it everyday easily. Them MU kids are pretty lucky.

Really good pale ale. I've only tried three of the beers from Flat Branch, but all of them were excellent. The Katy Trail has a nice, hoppy flavor that leaves a nice clean finish. One of the better pale ales out there.

We Yanks are getting this pale ale thing down. More of a middle of the road brew between British and American (read: west coast) pale ale. Malty aroma laced with floral hops. Clean and darker amber with some lace. Clean mouthfeel with just enough carbonation. Great balance exhibited on the flavor bitter, hoppy and with a good malt backbone, solid.
