I've been cellaring this bottle for over a year. Gentle bottle pour in an attempt to not disturb the massive sediment/floaties was mostly successful, and I'm presented with a gorgeous orange/yellow brew with carbonation expeced from a saison. Aromas of hay, grass, and fruity esters contribute to an inviting brew. Acidic but crisp mouthfeel and flavors of apple, lemon, and a tart funkiness. I couldn't detect the dandelion, but either way this is an excellent saison.

Sept 2009 - Pour was the color of apple cider with a smallish head with an aroma of flowers. The flavor was puckeringly tart, with a high level of bitterness and sourness. As it warmed some of the underlying sweetness emerged with a light graininess. Extremely thick and chewy. I don’t know, this wasn’t my favorite Fantome offereing.

Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is earthy, big malts and some hops. Quite sour notes also. Flavour is very sour fruits, earth, yeast and some hops. Very palatetickling thing.

A dark cloudy amber body is topped by a very full, meringue head that lasts a long while. The aroma is highly spicy and slightly floral. I really don’t know what a dandelion smells or tastes like so I won’t pretend that I detect any in the beer. The body is highly carbonated and has a nice nutty malt body to back it up. Actually, it’s a little bit like banana nut bread, but with the nuts heavily outnumbering the bananas.

Last beer at KPs year end fest. And the notes can speak for that. An orange appearance with a moderate head. Creamy orange? and lemon. This one was quite carbonated. Pretty good

2004 vintage - pours a cloudy red-orange colour with a giant and firm creamy head; aroma of apple, cellar, cream and cork; very creamy in the mouth; fresh with a solid malt body; a decent bitterness and a long fruity and slightly peppery finish puts the final touch to this wonderful beer

Well now...., where do we even start with this one? A Dandelion Belgian beer? Uh...?
Had this chilled off for a while -- it was calling my name each and every day while I was in Hawaii -- and popped it open this evening. A well-washed Corsendonk glass, and some careful pouring, and I'm well on my way...
Let's see what we have here.... Darker than what I normally expect from a Saison. But then again, this is a Fantome offering -- so all bets are of, as far as sticking to "the rules". And it's nice to see that this doesn't dilly-dally around.
Spicy and mysterious aroma -- what the heck is that I'm smelling here? Would that be the aforementioned Dandelion, or would that be the more by-the-numbers Fantome modus oprandi...?
The mystery only deepens with the flavor. Sweet, but then a sweeping bitterness. An odd acrid-yet-appealing vibe in the middle, with an interesting apple-cider crsipness that I would have never expected from an old-school Belgian Saison. But I have to to keep on reminding myself that this is no standard run-of-the-mill Saison -- it's a Fantome Saision with a penchant for using lawn weeds... :)
A wonderful mouthfeel that gives this beer a very easy-drinking capability. The weirdness from the Dandelions gives this nice quaffability, and yet is challenging enough to make it worth your while. Highly recommended.

Bottle: Poured an orangey color ale with a huge off-white head with perfect retention. Aroma of light spices which possibly includes cumin with some subtle funky yeast. Finish is slightly bitter but I would have expected a bit more at the end. Body is way too thin which kind of ruined part of the experience for me. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall, this is a very fine saison but I guess I was expecting another funky spicy monster which is not what this is about it seems.

A dandelion beer. Orange gold color, very hazy, small head. Grassy and earthy. Mellow and smooth. Complex flavors; herbal, grassy, spicy, slightly sweet, citrus and coriander. Not very hoppy. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. And yes it a weird label, but a very interesting beer. . Worth seeking out
