Fairhope's No. 51 is a classic American pale ale, brewed with a combination of American-made Falconer's Flight hops and German hops. Named for being the 51st recipe entry into head brewer Dan's beer notebook, this pale ale is packed with hop flavor but not overly bitter. Though this crisp, flavorful beer was 51 in Dan's notebook, we expect it to be your top choice for a pale along the Eastern Shore.

Pours clear topaz with a thick, frothy, persistent porcelain head. Aroma offers fresh malt, citrus and resiny hops notes. Flavor nicely echoes the aroma, not quite as strong but pleasing. This beer is a joy to drink. Mouthfeel presents typical body, energetic fizz, and a hoppy and fruity finish. Any number is a good number for beer.

My favorite of the FBC line-up... refreshingly hoppy, but well-balanced. Clear ornage-amber color with a fluffy white two-finger head. Citrus-pine aroma without being overbearing; translates to flavors with enough malt backbone to make it substantial. Solidly medium-bodied. Could easily be a gateway beer for those that may not like IPAs.
