Brewed for Einstök Ölgerd ( Brewery ) under separate licence. With clear notes of toffee and dark chocolate, this Porter is roasty and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate. Toasted and chocolate malts give it a sinister black color, but its easy-to-drink taste will have you believing that there's no need to be afraid of the dark anymore. Ingredients : Lager malt, Munich malt, chocolate malt, Bavarian hops. Baldur's notes : Smooth, roasty with some chocolate, toffee and licorice notes.

33cl bottle pours with a dark body supporting a mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, earthy malts, a touch of smoke, some milk chocolate and a slight spicy black licorice sensation. The impression of the taste is this is a rich and roasty yet small imperial stout like and I have no problem with that. I get dark roasty malts to slightly burnt to coffee notes moving into a toasted molasses candy like sensation. This is hitting the spot right now and I get what seems like a faint smokiness well off in the background pulling together for enhanced interest. Nice stuff.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Very dark ruby colour, nearly black. Small tan head. Aroma of coffee, moderately roasted malts and dark chocolate, a hint of dust. Quite dry flavour, distinct notes of coffee (an actual ingredient), hints of dark bitter chocolate. Moderate hops (Cascade, Northern Brewer and Hallertauer Tradition).

Pours dark chocolate brown that lets in just a little daylight at the bottom, and features a fairly thick tan head. Aroma is not strong, but promises with roast malt and coffee tones. Flavor features roast malt, coffee and subtle chocolaty tones. Mouthfeel offers thin body but good fizz. Summon your inner Viking! Not hard for me, what with I’m 1/4 Norse thanks to my dad.

Pours out 100% pure black with a thin tan head. The aroma is of malt and chocolate. The mouthfeel is very thick. The taste is of unsweetened bitter chocolate, with notes of coffee and roasted malt.

A deep blackness in color with a big frothy textured, light brown head rising above. There’s some hang time on the head. A thin ringlet is left. head, In the nose I’m getting some toffee, caramel, roasted malt, and cocoa. The tasting is of roasted, burnt malt, earthy hop caramel and toffee. A little light on the medium bodied. Overall a decent showing for a porter.

Pours near black with ruby brown edging while the head sits about a inch thick with fair retention, resulting in a broken layer of suds across the surface. Spotty lacing with little stick. The aroma has that classic roasted euro aroma; notes of toffee and caramel. A little sharp. Faint chocolate. The taste has moderate notes of roasted malt and caramel with light touches of toffee upfront. A ghostly trace of mentholated tobacco in the finish. The mouth feel is medium in body with lively carbonation. Goes down well enough. I must point out that Stouts and Porters are my least favorite style of beer.

330 ml capped bottle.Poured a close to black coloured Baltic Porter with half a finger tan foamy head that had a short retention and many bubbles. Low carbonation. No lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, cold coffee beans, chocolate and some smokey accents. The flavour is sweet toasted malts, roasted coffee beans, candy sugar, fruity, plums, pears, hints of spices, licorice, chocolate. The mouthfeel is fizzy, prickly, quite thick and a bit sticky. This medium bodied Baltic Porter has a long coffee bitter finish. A convincing tasting Baltic Porter from Iceland.
