Back in 1871, the first generation of the Moortgat family was already producing beer with their exacting craftsmanship, unfailing patience and above all, lots of love. Duvel is a 100% pure and natural beer, with no additives or preservatives. And you can taste the difference immediately. Its surprisingly high alcohol content (8.5%), huge, creamy head, delicate effervescence and silky smooth mouth feel is what distinguishes Duvel from other Belgian beers. With its subtly bitter bite and delicate aroma, Duvel holds a unique position within the rich Belgian beer tradition. After bottling, the beer continues to ferment for a fortnight in the warm cellars of the brewery. Finally, the beer is chilled for 6 weeks in the cold cellars. This extra long maturing process is unique and contributes to the exquisite flavour and pure aroma of Duvel.

Like most belgian ales more heavily carbonated than I appreciate, otherwise this is an excellent beer! Dangerously drinkable - hence the name.

Scent of fresh yeast. Beautiful straw gold color. Clean alcoholly flavor. Very fine white head of tiny bubbles. Very well balanced between malt and hops. In fact there is only the slightest hop aftertaste mixed with some spicyness, but not cloying like some Belgians. Nice and soft on the palate, with fresh carbonation feel. If you've never tried a Belgian beer before, and are reluctant, this would be a really great one to start off with.

330ml bottle into tulip. Slight acidic fruit aroma. Cloudy orange juice appearance, frothy white head. Even carbonation, tiny bubbles. Spritzy mouthfeel, oily texture. Finish is long, bitter lemon/grapefruit with a touch of caramel. It’s good but I’ve enjoyed other Belgian ales more.

33cl bottle at Dingo Deli, Hoi An. Light golden with nice white head. Aroma of fruits, Belgian yeast and some hops. Sweet and fruity with a nice bitterness in the finish. Well integrated alcohol. Quite nice.

Golden color with so much lasting head I wish it was my girlfriend! Smell was very tart and barky. Tasted bitter at first with a malty after taste.

About time to finally get this 33cL bottle reviewed. It pours pure clear gold with full near fluffy white head. This is pretty much a perfect looking beer. The aroma is coriander mixing with apples, pears and a touch of sweet maltiness. The taste begins crisp and a bit bright with Belgian yeasty spices, coriander and sweet ripe green apples. Those notes tend to bleed into pears and apricots. It gets a bit spicy into the finish with Belgian yeastiness. Solid Brew!

11.2oz bottle. Large pure white head, rocky, growing reaching out of my tasting glass minutes after the initial pour, weird. Hazy, straw color. Steady stream of bubbles rising up through this beer, keeping the head strong. Spicey hop nose with some breadyness and hints of alc. also.Medium body, effervescent mouthfeel. Slightly sour, dry with some nice fruity flavors. Finishes dry with a crisp hop bite. The laceing and head were intense, right to the last sip. Very nice beer.

Be careful when poring this one it’s makes a massive foamy white head. The aroma is of sweet yeast and of malt. The mouthfeel is creamy and the taste is clean.A very good Belgium beer.

A nice shimmery golden pour, with a huge rocky snow white head which takes forever to recede. There is a lot of yeast, and funk in the aroma to go along with the grains and floral hops. Thin and champagny mouthfeel. Flavor is malty with notes of honey, and finishes with a funky yeasty taste.
