A Bavarian style wheat beer. 60% wheat malt and 40% 2-row malt are incorporated with Noble hops imported from Germany. The resulting wort is fermented with a Bavarian yeast strain that imparts the distinctive banana and clove aromas — like those found in the most flavorful German hefeweizens (in contrast with the more mainstream West Coast style). The brewers skip the filtration step for that nice cloudy appearance, and great unfiltered flavor. Bronze 2003 California State Fair

Once again...likely a too old bottle, not dated, new on the shelf. But I'm pretty sure most hefes don't have a dusty smell, and there's a tartness here that doesn't seem to belong. Too bad, I was looking forward to this, and it's mixture of traditional banana/clove aspects and a little more prevelant than usual west coast citrus was nice. There was too much wrong with this brew to really gert into it, though. Just ok.

(Thanks stoutlover72). Hazy orange colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is zest, slight yeast and and slight acidicness Flavour is yeast, wheat, paper, fruits and some slight earth and spices. Refreshing, but the acidicness feels like it shouldn't be there...

This German Hefeweizen pours a cloudy golden orange color from a 12oz bottle. Medium to small sized white foamy head. Aroma is banana and clove, yeast and cereal. A medium bodied hefe. Malts are cereal and grainy. There is only a touch of banana and clove flavor. Light and refreshing, crisp and clean. There is a touch of lemon and citrus and the finish. Lightly sweet throughout. Good summer beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy orange-yellow color with a slight, white head. Aroma a wheat and clove. Flavor was not too powerful, but that's okay, especially for a hefe which isn't my favorite style. Banana-peel aftertaste. If you like hefes this won't disappoint.

I had this at a Bevmo tasting. It's a nice flavorful hefeweizen, crisp but not too much banana. It was enjoyable. I'd certainly not pass it up, if it were offered to me

Cloudy amber body is topped by a wet, white head. The head really could be bigger to be true to style, but that's the only flaw in the appearance The aroma is bubblegum and a hint of wheat. The flavor is loads of bubblegum, not as much as Schneider, perhaps, but this is obviously using really hefeweizen yeast and not just another American wheat beer. Low on the clove. A bit chalky, but not excessively. The body is creamy and smooth. One of the better American attempts at the hefeweizen style.

An outstanding wheat from one of the best brewers on the West Coast. Aroma is nice with hints of yeast. Appearance wasn't as cloudy as I've seen in some wheat's, but it was a nice dark golden color. Mouthfeel was incredibly silky, very creamy. Flavor had clove, crackers, bananna and some pepper in it. I could drink this all night. VERY well done by an awesome brewery.
