Dark and rich, a palate-full of deep, malty flavors. A multitude of malts and hops make this beer so special. The mash includes a good helping of caramel, chocolate and black malts. We add plenty of Magnum hops to balance the malty wort and two additions of Mt. Hood hops for lots of hop flavor and great aroma. Our porter is a traditional full flavored English style porter with a dark brown, almost black color, lots of body and smooth drinkability.

Gotta love it when you find a new beer. I'm guessing this has very limited distribution right now as the only state listed for refund is Oregon, so that means California isn't even getting it. No bottling date. Nice unassuming label on the 12 bottle. The beer guy at the store commented that they're getting bombers next week. I *do* want to register a whine right here about those stupid top-loading cases that this came in. I *hate* those. First, it's a PITA to get the bottles out, and more importantly you can't use them to bring the bottles back to the store for the refund because they depend on the caps to hold the bottles in place. Oh yeah, the beer... Pours a very dark brown with a respectable head and very little lacing. Smells of caramel and coffee, mostly. Taste is caramel, coffee, and a hint of hops, but very complex. There's other flavors dancing around my tongue. Moutfeel has a nice mineral sensation but very little carbonation. Drinkability is very high because this is a very fine example of the style. A damn fine Porter, this is, and another great example of why it's great to live in the PNW!

Pours a very dark red, almost black with a thinnish khaki head. The aroma is nice: sweet cocoa, caramel and some overripe fruit, but the flavor falls short, coming up thin. The finish is a bit unbalanced in it’s bitterness and there’s not a lot coming before it to balance it out. The body is a bit thin as well.
