In celebration of the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library, Diamond Bear Brewing Company introduced its seasonal beer, Presidential IPA. This in beer terms is a "big beer" with lots of flavor. This India Pale Ale has a rich copper color and full body which delivers exceptional body, balanced by a high hop rate. This beer has great aroma with generous amounts of cascade hops to stimulate all of the senses. This is truly a beer fit for a head of state!

The beer pours a nice hazy copper color, and is topped by an off-white head that’s maybe an inch high, and very tight. Aroma consists of citrusy hops, a little bit of pine, and a healthy dose of cereal grains. The mouthfeel is average. Flavor is balanced, sweet cereal notes to start, bitter citrusy hop notes to finish. Refreshing!

Cascade citrusy hops semi a little muted. More biscuity malt than I like bit not too bad. But the orange and grapefruit hop notes are subdued, making this an average iPa.

I enjoyed this beer...........too bad I wasn't a huge Clinton fan. A nice copper coloured beer that has a huge foamy head. Hop City is the best way to describe the aroma, not a lot of malty smell, but it's there. The flavour is boldly hoppy with lots of citrusy bitterness flowing over the tongue.

Bottled. Slightly hazy coppery amber colour with mediumsized creamy off-white head. Aroma is fruits, some caramel malts and mild wooden notes as well. Flavour is quite similar. Nothing extraordinary, but mellow and pleasant to drink.

From a bottle. Pours a crystal clear copper with a decent sized white head. Aroma is lighter than most IPA's, but very pleasant. Flavor is very bitter, but still balanced. Very good, very drinkable beer. Glad I got a sixer of it when I was there.

This beer was courtesy of Brett :) I found this was a nice smooth, medium bodied IPA. Pours a clear orange colour with plenty of head and decent lacing. Plenty of grapefruit on the nose, mouthfeel is creamy finishes long and smooth.

This one poured a dark amber color with a firm sandy colored head with great retention. It had a slightly sweet aroma with a mildly bitter flavor and a hoppy finish.

    Hail to the Chief!!

Finally got myself outside a bottle of this nice IPA, a gift from HeddyMuggz (thanks, hon!). Beautiful pour, a deep reddish-copper color with a huge, fluffy and lasting light tan head, and trails of lacing. Aroma is subtle and mild, but with floral hops with a nice sweet malt note. Silky smooth mouthfeel, medium-bodied but with an emphatic presence. The flavor is fully hopped, bitter and tangy, with a balancing sweet maltiness. Well done, you Arkansanians (Arkansanites?)! A lip-licking, very tasty IPA, recommended if you can find it. I have two more bottles that I'll hang onto until more show up on my doorstep!

Pours clear copper with creamy, lasting head and nice lacing. Yeasty, grainy base notes are balanced by aggressive herbal hopping. The flavor is medium-bitter with lots of grapefruit and an unfortunate metallic property. Almost no malt flavor and uncomplex overall. Effervescent carbonation atop a watery, medium body. Still drinkable and worth a sample.

Sampled from bottle. Pours clear, dark copper with a sudsy light tan head and intricate lacing. Its aroma is on the subtle side for an IPA. Perhaps a good dose of late hop additions, but maybe no dry hops. Fruit notes also dominant. The flavor is nicely bitter with plenty of American hop flavor. Toasted malts and dark fruit prevalent. Medium-bodied and high carbonation levels. Very drinkable and pleasant.
