The Beerbistro (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
October 18, 2019
$9.00
The beer poured a solid ruby red with a huge 2" creamy cream coloured head which left a lot of lacing. The aroma was heavy on the side of candied cherries, some light honey notes, grains, and yeast. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was very well balanced between sweet cherry notes, and tart cherry notes. There was a bit of graininess and a hint of alcohol, but this was a delicious beer nonetheless. -

Pours barely translucent dark cherry with a thick and persistent pink-tinged parchment head. Aroma presents cherry, elderberry (combo is very like raspberry, and I LOVE raspberries!), and fresh malt. Flavor yields sweet and tart cherry and elderberry, a malty underpinning, just a hint of resiny hops. Texture features perky fizz and smooth, firm body. Go for red - but if you get too delirious, please call a ride.

On tap at Bier Markt, Ottawa. Cloudy darker red colour with a big creamy beige head with some red hue, long lasting retention and loads of lacing. Beautiful cherry aromas with light sugars and hints of almonds from the yeast, softening things. Cherry taste with a light bitterness, then having some sweetness come out and a tart yeasty finish. A very nice cherry red ale which would be awesome for the LCBO, as they already carry their Tremens.

On tap at Bier Markt, Ottawa. Pours an average size frothy off-white head and has a dark amber coppery appearance. Big thick dirty lacing. Aromas of herbal and grassy hops, some subtle notes of hay and wheats. Flavours are mostly fruity and lots of berries, some raspberry and cherry notes, quite sweet overall as well. Has somewhat of a dry finish. Good retention.

Very red in color with a big frothy textured, reddish tinged whitish head rising above. There's good hang time on the head. A thick ringlet and persistently light cap remain. Everything about this beer is cherries. Medicinally sick cherries. And as medicine slick on the tongue

from notes: another one I went into with high expectations that just didn't deliver. i don't care for the sickly sweet cherry combined with light almond, in the aroma or flavor. otherwise average.

little hazy ruby red with redish foam head and yeast floating in the glass. Aroma is cherry, but yet also some yeast, alcohol. Taste is a sweet cherry fruit beer, but strong though. Aftertaste is not too sweet, one of the better fruit beers, but still a fruit beer.

Had this on tap at a bar one night in Reims. Totally terrible tasting fruit beer. I don't know if it was because I was having other beers that day, but this was just awful. Couldn't even finish it. Tasted like an energy drink mixed in with beer. Crapola.

330 ml mock "stoneware" bottle, red foil top. ABV is 8.5%. Will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Ingredients include cherries, cherry juice, elderberry juice, sugar, flavouring and sweetener. Hazy red colour, large pink head. Strong aroma of cherries and elderberries, hints of almonds and marzipan. The flavour is sweet with strong notes of cherries and elderberries as expected, somewhat "unfresh", but also an unexpected sharpish bitterness in the finish. Not really great.
