This is the original beer from Ecaussinnes. 7% alcohol. It is spiced, but you don't really taste the spices. Nice amber colour, lightly caramelised with a light bitter taste at the end. A very nice beer, recommended by Michael Jackson.

Ultra Ambrée 7% 2.3 cheapdark Brownish sediment pour, tho not too dark. Things are hangin out in there. Sweet and volatile olfactory. Alky yeast flavors with odd fermented fruit effects. Almost tart at times. Belgie fer sure; tho alky, comes across refined. Soemwhat weird barn farmy carboard or rotting old wet hay finish.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber/orangey color ale with a big foamy head with some good retention and lacing. Aroma of Belgian malt with some light spices. Taste is somewhat bland with some semi-sweet Belgian malt with some light spices and a subtle yeasty finish. Body is fuller then average with some great carbonation. Overall, I thought this was OK for an amber ale but definitely lacking some complexity for me to come back to this one again.

Hazy orange colour, big huge creamy off-white head. Aroma is nutty and quite toffeeish with some hints of malts. Flavour is nuts, sweet malts and some yeasty hints. A rather pleasant and refreshing thing.

Best before 22/03/2010. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium amber color from a 300ml bottle. Large sized white foamy head. Aroma is strongly bready and yeasty. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. Malts are very cookie, with some fruitiness (mangos and melons). Slightly sweet but balanced by a crisp dry finish. A touch of floral hops are there as well. Very drinkable Belgian Amber. There is a definite alcohol and woody flavor at the finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a touch of alcohol.

A clear amber tan with a large soupy head. Funky. Perhaps brett. A bit of apple. A touch of grape. A bit on the dry side. This was noticeably funkier on the yeast side of the flavor and aroma than the brune was.

Pours a cloudy orange with a thin white head. Noticable lacing on the glass. Lots of suspended chunks of "lords-knows-what-hopefully-goodness". Aromas of something smokey. Flavors of spice and fruit. Mouthfeel is full with a bit of spice/alcohol bite. Finish is dry. All around this is just fine and worthy of a try.

The white head starts out thick, but melts rapidly with a nice ring of foam left around the snifter rim. The amber color of the liquid itself is reminiscent of a raging fire. Noticeable yeast sediment is present (if you look hard enough) in this top fermented elixir's confines. This beer smells like apricots, with a slight preserve like quality. On the palate, the tastes are clean, yeasty, and nutty, with some dry citrus, spice and brown sugar notations. The finish is dry and bitter. Pretty good, but I have had better from this style.

cloudy amber-orange colour with a giant creamy head, tons of coriander in the nose, yeasty and bready, mango comes also to mind, medium-bodied, creamy mouthfeel, bitter, the finish is moderately dry and very bitter with some more fruity notes - fully enjoyable though there is here something wrong I cannot determine
