The CBC Idiot IPA is an all natural India Pale Ale. A big beer with an 8.5% ABV and brewed with over 3 pounds of hops per barrell. Watch out, this unfiltered "San Diego IPA" has been known to reduce even the most intelligent to a blithering "idiot".

nothing stood out at memorable. average double ipa, not bad, not great. Not a great hop feel; would like to see more bitter hops on the lines of a double ipa. does not taste like 8.5%.

Bottle. Pours clear bubbly amber with a nice eggshell head. Aroma delivers strong sweet orange, woody hop, and lightly toasted malt notes. Flavor is - WOW, super hoppy, resiny and evergreen, with Mandarin orange and malt providing supporting notes. Bitterness is firm but not fierce. Mouthfeel presents firm body and lively, lasting fizz. Don’t be an idiot - try one!

A couple of these on tap, "somewhere" in Scottsdale. This is actually a DIPA according to the brewer's website. Orangey-gold pour, slight white head, not overly carbonated. Strong aroma, grapefruit and pine resins. Full-bodied mouthfeel. IBU's of 72 ensure more than enough bitterness in the flavour. Citrus and resins were there as well, plus some caramel for balance. ABV is well concealed. Nicely balanced beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear copper orange with a big creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass some.

The aroma is sweet dank fruit with piney resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet ripe fruits with dank resiny hops. It has a bit of a tarry alcohol finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with lots of carbonation.

Overall, a nice DIPA, but a little harsh.

A bold orange-golden in color with a big foamy textured off white head rising above. There's great hang time on the head. It settles eventually into a thick film from an impressive ringlet climbing up the side of the glass. Intense floral hops in the nose. Citric-pine hoppiness in the tasting. There's a sweet maltiness in the background. Crisp and refreshing.

Good India Pale Ale...nothing thought provoking, however it satisfied my hop jones without wreaking havoc on the palate. Citrus and pine with a hint of caramel malt. Standard fare, but done right.

floral, bitter and herbal aroma and flavor. about an average beer at best for the style. does little to stand out from the crowd one way or the other, but is a fine beer on it's own.

Pours true gold and clear with thin, creamy head; thick lacing. Aroma is floral, but not as strong as I was expecting. The flavor is bitter, but not insanely so and I agree with sap that the hops flavor is more herbal than the aroma foretells. Light-to-medium bodied with strong carbonation (I think that's how they do it at CBC, as a rule) and significant warming affect. I heard from several folks that this was there best beer, and it might be, but it won't make it onto my list of favorites.

Pours golden with a thick creamy head. Excellent lacing. Aroma is floral and hops. Mouthfeel is nice. Flavor is hoppy but then again well balanced. Quite drinkable and nice.

all sixes, you know why my head is an eraser! ... I like vending machines ’cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. .this is a nice beer, love the use of hops... . i haven’t seen so many sixes since Graeme Smith!
