A beer of the month club entry for Aug/Sep 2010. Pours a slightly haze moderately dark amber. Pretty good hop tones, in fact more hops than I expected. The beverage is slightly sweet, but that does not take way from the experience. All in all a reasonable drinking experience

Amber color, medium head. Medium malts and lightly hopped. This beer is a lighter tasting amber, somewhat mild. Nice flavor. Mouthfeel is a little malty. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter

Wow...!
This is a perfect beer...!!
Perfectly boring, that is.
Not sure what struck me to re-try this brand of beer -- the semi-official beer brand of the Beverages & More liquor store chain. Had this (and it's pseudo-twin, the Coastal Fog Pale Ale) years ago, and quickly forgot all about it. But this 22-oz'er grabbed my eye (and my $2.49) during a recent BevMo run.
Pretty much the epitome of an all-6 beer, IMO. Strictly average across the board. No significant faults, but nothing to distinguish this beer from the vast numbers of other rather boring Amber Ales out there (brewpub, bottled, draught, whatever). Comes across as a dumbed-down version of Full Sail Amber Ale, if that means anything to you.
My very first homebrew came from a small kit, that consisted of a can of pre-hopped extract, some anonymous dry yeast, and some rather skimpy directions. The result? It was indeed beer alright -- but nothing that I would pay money for.
This beer? Very similar to that very first homebrewed "Amber Ale". Strictly average, and completely forgettable. Next....
Music: Dream Theater's "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence".
