The 38th is a 5% abv and 32 IBU pale ale named after the 38th Battalion (Ottawa), one of the battalions who fought at Vimy. Made with Canadian 2-row malt and French Aramis hops, it’s described as having a “distinctive citrus/spicy flavour and aroma which pairs well with the clean malt profile.”

Testing out the Elgin location for a Sens game in round two. Pours a clean amber colour with a beige cap and a little lacing. The Canadian 2-row malt is pretty noticeable in the smell with honey notes and mild grassy hops. The hops are more present in the taste with a nice citrus bitterness and dry finish. Quite a nice pale ale with the hops being very well-balanced for the style.
