This rich brown ale is redolent with Cuban-style roasted espresso beans, sweet caramel and toffee and hints of dry nuttiness. Cuban Espresso is a popular drink in the Cigar City of Tampa owing to its many Sicilian and Cuban immigrants. The beans for Cubano-Style Espresso Brown Ale are roasted locally by Mazzaro's Italian Market and Deli in St. Petersburg to our exact specifications.

From slowrunner: murky brown pour, tight short light tan head, plenty of lacing. Nice rich roasted coffee aroma, roasted malts, caramel, earthy hops. Adequate rich espresso flavor, slightly nutty, lightly sweet caramels, light bitter linger. Nice coffee type brew - thanks Chris!

reminiscent of coffee bender in that it's more coffee than beer. if you like espresso and chicory, this will be mother's milk. if not? well... smells and tastes of coffee and chicory and little else. thin but smooth sessionable to the extreme:)

A muddy brown colored beer with a smale foamy textured, off white head that rises briefly above. What it left when it settles is a thin ringlet. The birnt, roasty, slightly bittering of coffee bean with a light caramel sweetness is what is in the nose and in the tasting. A light body. For it's simplicity it is oacked with great flavor.

I think I prefer the straight-up Maduro, or the Oatmean Raison Cookie, but this is still solid. I also prefer my cafe con leche, or for beers the milky/sweeter coffee flavors. I grew up in South Florida, so know all about cuban coffee/espresso with that strong burnt flavor. This is definitely there. Almost to a point of overwhelming, but not quite.....in a way that actually works well. I just think it slightly overpowers or masks some of the other qualities of this beer, like the caramel malts and nutty flavors. Sort of like that Jamaican coffee/espresso soda, but in beer form. I will probably get this again, but will be drinking more of the other Maduros.

Growler. Pours deep amber-brown with a thin khaki head. Big roasty espresso aroma with some toasted caramel following. Fresh roasty espresso beans, really love how fresh and authentic the espesso tastes. Roasty bitterness lingers a bit and it’s complimented by a nice soft caramel. Deep down some chocolate surfaces every so often. Flavors are strongest up front. Semi-dry finish. Very good. My favorite Maduro so far.
