Hazy golden yellow with white foam head. Aroma is hard to detect. Taste is bittersweet, hops prevael. Aftertaste is long lasting bitter beer. (Velp 201301)

330 ml swingtop bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. Dry hopped, unfiltered, unpasteurised, bottom fermented, classic open fermentation. ABV is 8.7%. Very pale yellow beer, huge white head. Strong aroma of floral and herbal European hops, notes of grass and alcohol too. The flavour is sweet, hoppy and quite alcoholic. Strong and sweet pale lagers rarely "go home" with me, and this one is no exception, even though it is much better than its more industrial counterparts.

I do like this Dutch brewer, so seeing another one of their flip-top bottles at the LCBO made me happy. Beautiful big fluffy white head that has lots of retention and artsy lacing. It is hazy and golden-beige coloured. I do not see much carbonation. Nice aroma of hop with some malt in the background and notes of sweetness like honey. Slick and oily mouthfeel with a little stickiness. After a second pour, I can now see the little-bubble carbonation which reminds me of Champagne. The hop is also present all the way through the tasting, but not bitter (because of the dry-hopping). Alcohol is very well-hidden and hints of grain malt and pear are found as well. Pretty easy drinkability and quite a nice different beer.

330ml swing top bottle. Decants a murky unfilterd pale gold lager in the glass with a puffy white 3 finger cap - laces well. Aromas of biscuit dough over pungent grassy-herbal hopping. Big pilsner malts in front are tamed by rich, juicy herbaceous hops. Dry finish without a hint of alcohol except for some gentle warming. This is a seductive imperial pilsner with no hint of its strength in the flavor profile. I understand why the 330ml bottle ...this is so smooth and tasty youd like to session it but beware. This kicks Duvel’s ass for drinkability.

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy bright yellow color beer with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some dry Noble hops notes. Taste is also a somewhat unbalanced mix between some dry hopped Saaz and some overly sweet malt notes with a hint of cereal. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I kinda like the idea of a hoppier Christoffel but just too sweet for my taste buds.

I did not think too much of this beer and I can't think of why. It pours a hazy golden-brown with a generous head that sticks around. The aroma was malty but for a beer that is dry-hopped, no hoppish hints were detected. The taste was 'just not there'. Very bready.

I tried this beer on April 30, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a hazy golden orange, with a thick fluffy white head. The aroma was grainy malt, and a piney hoppish note. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was grainy malt, some citrusy lemon notes, and a hoppy bitter finish
