Hey, my first S. Africa rating, thanks Sebastian. Pours mahogany with thin tan head. The aroma is somewhat assertive with rich dark fruit like prunes and plums to go along with black licorice and hints of dark malt roastiness. The taste is neutral to start and then picking up a mix of sweet dark fruitiness, a touch of caramel and a mild level of dark roasted malts.

Wow. A stellar beer! Courtesy of a buddy of mine who brought it back from a recent trip to the dar continent. Pours nice, thick, creamy and black; super smooth. A true joy in every sense of the word. Cheers!

My favorite brew from Africa thus far, courtesy of pfoxyjohn. Pours a dark brownish black colour, slightly translucent. well roasted malts and nutty flavours. really creamy and a favorite for all who tasted it last night. Thanks John!

Many thanks to Suds McDuff, not only for sending me this bottle but for giving me something to search for while in southern Africa. Yes, indeed! I found sixers of this gem in a tiny strip-mall liquor store in Gaborone; now I'm no longer condemned to Castle Lagers night after night! Pours an elegant dark mahogany color with a thin bubbly brown head. A light roasted malt and chocolate nose with a bold spiciness. Full, rich mouthfeel, but more tangy than smooth. Robust flavors of roasted malt and cocoa with a smokey-spicy taste in the finish.

Canned. Black opaque colour with big brown head. Syrup and roast in aroma. Sweet malty and bitter old coffee in flavour. Very watery. No aftertaste to talk about. One of the worst stouts I’ve had so far.

A delicous dark beer with a nice thick head at the start. A true stout with a almost woody-smoke smell and a delicous full flavor. It's a truly delicous South African Stout classic!
