Big, rich, dark chocolate nose with spicy, citrus rind notes from the Fuggle, Golding, Brewers Gold, Cascade and Amarillo hops. Dry hop forward flavor with a medium sweet body that blends nicely with the judicious layer of hops and dark malt bitterness. Our homage to the Winter Solstice and the gradual return if the sun.

Called Darkest Day cascadian dark ale. Nice combo of coffee, chocolate and orange peel. More bitter than sweet but a little of both. Smooth rich body and flavor. Solid!

Had this on draft at the Raccoon Lodge last week. Very dark beer with only a little bit of light showing through. Little white head and lacing. Malty aroma with plenty of pine hop spice. Medium body and smooth. Flavor has a healthy chocolate malt and nice balance of pine and citrus hops. Pretty good beer. One of the better non-sour beers I tried of theirs.
