If this was bottled, then there is no way anybody would buy it. It pours a cloudy orange yellow. The head is almost non-existent. The aroma is weak wheat malt, some clove, and weak citrus and banana. The flavour is a mish-mash of wheat and water. very thin.

It was a little bit all over the board... the draw from the tap was nice - hazy golden amber. Average nose, but a little on the light side. Light/thin on the pallette. But it did quench my DC thirst.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big fan of the Capitol City Brewery and their products. At any point during the year they have a decent beer or two on the menu, but most of their products are a little on the average side. The one beer that stands above all down their is their Pumpkin Ale and I went in search of it this past week. Unfortunately it was not yet available, so I was stuck trying this Hefeweizen.
This beer came out to the table and had an average yellow look to it. There was a small white head on it that quickly disappeared. The aroma was weak and I really couldn't pull much out of it. Maybe a little bit of wheat and cloves, but really not that much else.
The flavor and mouthfeel were the areas that this attempt at a Hefeweizen fell short. Now I'm not going to bash this one too hard because there were not flaws in the beer and I usually only reserve my bashing for flawed beers. This one was just really weak. It drank more like a lemonade and less like a beer. Call it a starter beer. Save it for those who are just getting away from their Budweisers and Coors products and want to venture into other styles. Just don't give it to me. -

Cloudy yellow body with a good, lasting head. The aroma is heavy on the clove, not so much on the banana. Crisp wheat follows up the yeastiness in the flavor and the mouthfeel is moderately creamy.

I'm rating this as an American wheat, not a hefeweizen. Style should probably be changed if the literature matches the reality of the experience. Not too bad a beer, but nothing special here. Citrus was the feature over top of the wheaty flavor. Mouthfeel was on the light side for an unfiltered wheat beer (American wheat or not).

As fars as hefes go this one missed. Pour was okay nice golden color. Aroma was weak at best citrus but very light aroma. Flavor missed the boat, citrus and lemon, almost no banana little wheat. Mouthfeel was way way to thin
