Bottle: Poured a clear black color porter with a medium size foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry roasted notes with some very light coffee notes. Taste is also a mix between some light dry roasted malt notes with some light coffee but no black chocolate notes that I usually like in this style. Body is a bit thin with some average carbonation. Ok overall but a creamier body and more character would have greatly benefited this beer.

A very dark beer, almost black with a very thin tan coloured head. The aroma was strong with roasted malt, coffee, and I think I could smell some licorice too. The flavour was all roasted malt as well, with a little hoppy dryness as well.

Bottled@SBWF2007. Deep brownish amber colour with mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, wood and some slight coffee. Flavour is sweet malts, coffee, vanilla and big fruity sweetness.

Served on tap with lunch at the brewpub, presented in Bushwakker pint glass. Dark opaque brown, almost black, small cap of slightly tan foam. Some small bubbles from continued carbonation, left a thin ring of lace. Malty aroma, plus light smell of coffee. Taste is of roasted coffee, with some nuttiness, and touch of sweet malt and slight bitter hop finish. A little bit more coffee in the finish and aftertaste. Mouthfeel was thin enough not too coat the tongue, but stil enough lingering taste with every sip.
