Strong, smoky aroma has an overtone of blueberry - no surprise there! It pours a deep sable with a light tan head that leaves about average lacing. Flavor has firm notes of molasses, coffee, blueberry, semi-sweet chocolate and roast malt. Firm-bodied texture has a decent amount of fizz. If you like fruit beers and stouts, keep your eyes peeled for this one.

Pouring took a while, because this beer produces a huge head of mixed density. Cloudy to opaque dark brown, nearly black. On the pour, the blueberry aroma is unmistakeable but, as it dissipates, the scent gives way to something almost Belgian-- rich dark fruit and toasty bread... and after that some floral hops and just the faintest whiff of blueberry again. Intriguing. Immediate flavor of blueberry is followed by strong sour coffee and a stunning wallop of grapefruit bitterness. I was not expecting the latter two, and I'm not sure it was a pleasant surprise. The combo just didn't seem right. Over time, the flavors balanced out more, but I don't feel I will return to this.

This grew on me towards the end. The only complaint that I really have is that the blueberry seems too fruity, or almost artificial. The texture and hoppy finish make up for it. I had the flavor and overall at an average 6, but seems a little better than that. Wanted to try a single first before buying a 6-pack. Glad I did, as I wouldn't get again. Could see maybe trying out on draft somewhere if nothing better...but that's about it.

A brownish-black colored beer with a moderate sized, foamy light tan head rising briefly above. Settles into a thick ringlet. There's blueberries in the nose. Blueberries in the tasting along with rasty malt and citric hops. Actually pairs well in a light, creaminess.

blueberry barely evident in the aroma. a little more in the taste, but more of a general sweetness that hints at blueberry. til you burp. the burps are all blueberry. the flavor is chocolatey, with roasted malt and a surprisingly decent amount of hops. body is tad thin but not bad. this is by no means a great beer, but dare i say it...underated? brewed by pyramid in WA for Buffalo Bills in Hayward.

Aroma of blueberries upon opening, not much after. Normal black body with some deep purplish/ brown hues when held up to light. Hardly any head, and spotty lace. Flavor of hay and dry malts, old oats perhaps? A waterty mouthfeel with a dry, bitter (for the style) finish, some blueberry in the aftertaste. Overall, so-so.

had on 12/30/09 at 6:55pm on a wednesday after a few shiner frosts, lets see how this guy does. I love blueberry in beers, so.. smell is light sharp tar and blueberry jam .. . has a very nice head, some low but present lacing .. that or batman's really let himself go.. . pretty good dose of bitterness, i would have liked it sweeter, but its ok maybe a bit simplified though.. easy drinker though.. its gonna be great chuck! you sly dog .. . abv is a little bit apparent. Decent stuff, would love to try on tap! would love it! ..god, marcy is such a lesbo! .. .

This beer pours a black color with a nice tan head. Aroma of blueberries and oatmeal. Wasn't sure how the blueberry flavor would go with a stout but it was decent. A beer to sip on.

Had a bottle of this at the Bocktown, nice place. Once popped, it does have this interesting background of blueberry aroma. The look is not opague like most stouts, it’s more of a red rootbeer kind of look. Taste is all bitter stout during the session but after each slug I do get just a tad of blueberry in there mon the back of the throat. Medicinal and difficult at times. It even borders on impy stout stature on the finish.

Pours an almost black color with a small tan head. The smell reminds me of fruity pebbles cereal. It tastes like there is ground pepper in this one. There isn't much blueberry to speak of. Quite a let-down.
