On tap at Mikkeller Bar. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of blueberries, roasted malt and some chocolate. Unfortunately it’s served pretty cold but it just gets better with the rising temperature. When a saw it on the tap list at the blackboard I thought it was a beer I would either love or dislike. Fortunately it was the first one. I’ts just fantastic. Intense blueberry taste mixed with some chocolate, and extremely well balanced in my opinion. Just nosing it for several minutes (waiting for it to get warmer) is a pure pleasure. Complex and full bodied. Truly a delicious beer. When the glass is empty I’m left with a choclaty blueberry taste in my mouth and the urge to buy another glass. Unfortunately we didn’t have the time to do that so I really hope I’ll get a chance at another occasion. I want more! (2012-04-07)

Courtesy of TampaBrew. Pours dark brown with dark tan head. The aroma is roasty malts, sweet malts and a truck load of blueberries. The taste is up front sweet blueberry fruitiness moving into sweet malts and highly roasted maltiness. As the experience moves to the finish the blueberry fruit fades a bit to reveal an even roastier malt layer that borders being burnt. As usual, tasty stuff from this brewery.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Aroma of blueberries, chocolate, vanilla, mild coffee and moderately roasted malts. Pleasant flavour of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate and blueberries, a slight fruity acidity, dry finish with moderate hops. Very enjoyable.

Midnight with the darkest brown cap I've ever seen. This cap transforms into a layer of foam dense and persistent, with the appearance of pond scum. The beer smells like smoked blueberries, tart and sweet, with traces of licorice and spice. The big char flavor is terrific, somehow bold without being extreme, and the blueberry recedes. There is an odd hint of blue cheese in here that is not unpleasant. The heavy texture is crazy smooth and velvety.

Near black pour, tan head, ample lacing. Fresh blueberry aroma, roasted malts, some slight cocoa and light earthy hops, still not overly sweet, more of a blueberry flavor with roasted malts. Nice change of pace.

A very thin stout that let's the fruit take over. Smells like a blueberry muffin, very sweet. Taste is more blueberry, but not over sweet, nice dark chocolate notes to support the fruit. Not bad, just above average for me.

This one is bizarre in the the greatest thing about it is that its aroma is perfectly blueberry, enticingly bluebeery. You could hold ur nose over this glass, close your eyes and see urself in front of a wild blueberry field. Unfortunately, the chocolate/blueberry flavor is off and a bit strange. It doesn't combine and the blueberry makes the chocolate taste a little charcoally and the chocolate make the blueberry a little perfumey. It also stil retains the sour of the blueberry.

A battle between fruity sweetness and roasted bitterness. Blueberries abound in this stout providing for a very straightforward fruit presence. Mild chocolate and coffee clash with the sweetness in a fairly pleasant manner. Heavy pour with a thick head and ample lacing. Medium bodied and awkward at times.

4.5%? seriously? probably the best use of blueberry (a fruit i generally don't prefer in beer, though i like blueberries) in a brew that i've ever tried. huge blueberry aroma, not in the least fake, like it usually turns out. pretty thick for a low abv beer. the flavor is more stout than the aroma, which was 50 50 at best. nice roasted malt, chocolate, berries, with a slight lingering tart berry finish mixed in with roasty goodness. surprisingly well done.
