Broadhead’s Wildcard Ale is a refreshing, lightly bittered beer that stacks the deck with a delicious hint of satisfying citrus. Hops wild, this smooth brew might use a different hop variety now and again, but rest assured this Wildcard is a mouth-watering winner. The beer pours a clear light copper colour with a thin white ring for a head. Aroma is citrusy hops, grains, and a funky odor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is grains and some citrus hoppy notes. There is a lingering bitter taste on the back of the tongue. -

Pale golden appearance. Had a light brownish head, but not much. No lacing. Kind of a burnt aroma, a bit of vanilla coming through. Definite citrus flavours, grains. Sweet aftertaste. Slight watery mouthfeel. Not too bad. Not quite as hoppy as expected (Hops wild from above description, um no.)

I am pretty sure, this was the "Zythos Hopped" version (but it did not say anything of this, at the Highlander Pub in Ottawa for the first "National Capital Craft Beer Week"). Poured a golden colour with a slight amber hue. The head was small, white and did not give out much lacing. Fresh grain malt scent with mild fruit aromas (passion fruit, mango). Medium-bodied, wet, but with a little sticky feel. Cereal grain taste with notes of peach and apricot. Pretty easy going brew that has that fresh macro malt grain feel.
