This dark brown porter is brewed using vanilla, providing a subtle aroma and sweetness which contrast well with the slight bitterness from the roasted barley and chocolate malts. Hops used: Challenger, Perle, Progress

Wow. Pours a slightly dark brown appearance with a pretty nice size brownish foamy head. Good lacing. Aromas of vanilla, caramel, and roasted barley malts. Coffee mocha and roasted malts for flavours with hints of vanilla and caramel, like aromas. Somewhat bitter mouthfeel, but not overpowering. Caught off guard by 4.5% abv, seems like a stronger beer, or maybe should be. Good stuff.

Pours a dark brown with a large tan head with good retention. Mild roasted malt and vanilla aroma. The flavour was very much vanilla, complimented with chocolate and a hint of licorice. Tasty for only being 4.5%. Light body is a little bit of a let down.

Pours a deep brown colour with red highlights. Its head is big, fluffy, creamy, off-white, long-lasting and creates thick lacing all-around. Cocoa powder and light vanilla beans aromas with the roasted malts. Forgot this was a porter (as it looked liked a creamy stout) but the mouthfeel was watery... so easy drinking for a dark brew. Flavours of caramel, vanilla, chocolate but all pretty mild with not much lingering and stickiness. Decent vanilla and chocolate porter for those who like it to go down easy.

500ml bottle pours a dark black ale with a puffy 3 finger tan cap that lasts well and laces the glass. Moderate carbonation. Aroma features the advertised vanilla at a tasteful understated level mingling with roasty coffee and coca tones, light earthiness and grassy hop aromas. Slick mouth feel, decent body. Flavor has the roasty-cocoa-vanilla maltiness in good balance with the hopping. Has a lovely malty presence that seems like it should be sweet but never gets there. Finish is roasty-vanilla and goes bitter but not dry. This is a really well put together porter in the London style that has a unique non cloying character yet maintains a roasty maltiness. Very easy drinking and mellow.

The beer poured a translucent dark brown with a generous tan head that lasted a while. The aroma was roasted nuts, mocha, and vanilla. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was nuts, vanilla, roast, and a hint of coffee. -

Cask. Quite near black (deep ruby murky brown colour), small beige head. Aroma is wood, roast, vanilla and some ashes. Flavour is roast, ashes, vanilla, some wood as well as some dark dry fruits. Very nice for being only 4.5 % abv.
