Imperial Cascadian Dark Ale Imperial Cascadian is the NW style of this brew. This is a very well balanced, extremely hoppy black ale. It is very reminiscent of a winter ale. Armored fist is a collaboration beer brewed with the good ole boys from Three Floyd’s Brewing out of Chicago.

Tasted on tap at the 12th Bistro Double IPA Festival on 2/11/2011. This Black IPA pours a medium brown color from the tap. Large sized beige/tan foamy head. The aroma is caramel, roasty , fruity and sweet. A medium bodied black IPA. The malts are caramel and sweet. Slighlty roasty. The hops are herbal and earthy, and a touch citrusy. Nice balance. A touch sweet but balanced toward the hop bitterness. Easy to drink and a good example fo the CDA/Black IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
