In Belgium, a Grand Cru is traditionally brewed for special celebrations. This holiday season, there’s definitely something to celebrate: a blue moon on New Year’s Eve. To honor this rare event, we’ve brewed a limited-edition Blue Moon Grand Cru in the US. This small-batch, Artfully Crafted brew incorporates subtle hints of orange peel and coriander and delivers a warm, spicy finish. Garnish with an orange slice and celebrate.

First decent beer I have had in awhile, as I was slumming it for almost two years. The aroma is citrus and sweet. The appearance is very similar to the traditional blue moon Belgium white , with less head. The head on my glass dissipated within one minute and had only a ring of white enclosing a galaxy of white star spots. Mouth-feel is my weak suite, but velvety and smooth seems to cover what I am feeling as it swashes around my mouth. The flavor has only a small increase in all areas of the traditional blue moon Belgium white. As it warms I would like to point out an increased alcohol bite, that wasn't there when it was cooler. Overall, contradictory to the majority, I enjoyed this beer and would like to have it again. I would not seek it out, but seven dollars does seems to be a decent bang for your buck on this one. I specifically enjoyed the alcohol content. As previously stated, I have been drinking swill for some time, and the abv was a wake up call to what real beer can offer. Lastly, the numbers in which I rated this beer are in relation to other Belgium Strong Ales. Oh how I missed good beer!

pours a cloudy yellow in color and has a high amount of visible carbonation with a very small bright white head that died down rather quickly, and a thick ring around the edge of the glass. The aroma was light to moderately orange peel and nothing else. The taste was similar to the aroma and also has notes of coriander and wheat flavors; the spices particularly linger through the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and has a moderate to high amount of carbonation.

This is how Blue Moon Belgian White should be when you are thinking this style. Similiar to the regular Blue Moon in aroma, appearance, and taste....but the flavor is bolder, richer, and slightly different with what taste like hints of peach/apricot or something else that blends with the citrus. Higher alcohol content is always nice too! Shared this with a buddy, which is a perfect amount for 2 to sample....especially since many out there know about/tried Blue Moon or Shocktop and can relate. Something I would get again...good to bust out at a party or get-together.

Have seen this around for about a year, but at the starting price of $12 then getting reduced and reduced , i wasn't going to budge- but i'll take a free sample .. . wonderful light aroma, perfume and flowers and a touch of yeast and orange .. . refreshing at the start when cold, but as it warms it looses its charm .. . muddled finish .. . i sit in the corner and look at the paintings.. brilliant!!

It pours a hazy and non-transparent burnt-orange with fairly-thick white-head and some lace. An aroma of oranges and the peel, fresh wheat malts, oranges/citrus, and light spices. The mouthfeel is smooth, thick, and rich. Flavors of wheat malts, some hops, oranges and citrus, light breadiness and yeast, and the choicest of spices.

every once and a while, a beer is exactly like you think it will be. this is one of those times. this is blue moon, slightly stronger, sweeter, deeper, and better. nothing more, nothing less. not worth $9, but i wasn't payin.

Sampled on 4/10/2010. Fruity, citrus aroma, and some spice. I can't wait to try it again. I should have bought 2 cases at the price I bought this one for.

A murky golden colored beer. A big frothy textured, white head rises above. Settles fairly quickly, but not in a blink. Light soapy cap and ringlet are left behind. Nose is wheat, coriander, citrus all nicely blended together. Light to medium bodied with smooth carbonation. The tasting is like the nose, wheat, spice and citrus all blended nicely together. Really a nice beer.

Murky tan with hints of orange in the body, poured a minimal short lived cap. Massive wheat malt aroma with tons of orange and noticeable alc. Taste is much the same, heavy wheat malts, and the taste of 38.34 oranges crushed into my glass. SO VERY ORANGY!!!! Some spice is in here and I want to say pepper but that seems wrong. There is a very heavy alcohol presence what I would normally not like for the style but for this it works. Ok I guess
