Damn, Lou - that was good - thanks! Deep rich pour with a rich light brown head with great retention and lacing. Smooth dark chocolate and toffee to the palette and nose.

Solid porter from Blue Lou, thanks man. Dark brown body with a huge tan head and heavy lacing. Big roasted malt content with plenty of chocolate, nuts and buttered toast thrown in. Medium bodied, clean and very drinkable.

Another fantastic brew sent to me by none other than Blue Lou himself. Thank you my brotha: Pours a deep brownish black colour. Modest sized frothy top. Aroma is nutty, coffe beans, chocolate and the like. Taste is silky smooth, lighter than its decieving nose but still full enough to make it a great representation of the style.

On tap @ Blackstone Restaurant & Brewery. A deep brown/black pour with a medium sustained head and ample lacing. Toasted malts in the aroma with a very slight smokiness and a touch of cocoa and coffee. Taste is smooth with the toasted malts up front followed by a slight semi-sweet chocolate, a pinch of java, and again a slight smokiness. Excellent rich porter and one I can now cross off of my wish list. Will revisit.

Visited the Beer Sellar in Nashville. Asked my helpful waitress for something good and locally made, and was offered a sample taste. Seemed pretty good, so I ordered a pint. This beer arrived in a standard pint glass. Dark brown color with a slightly tan 1 inch head. Foam thinned down to a small floating cap. Aroma of some roasted malt. The flavor was a bit stonger with some chocolate and roasted grains, also a bit nutty (just a step up from nut brown). Smooth and creamy, a tastey beer. I would have had another, but there were so many other choices, I had to try something else.

Sampled as Three Threads Porter...The bottled version of St. Charles Porter. Pours with a dark brown body topped by a thin to medium thck head with some lacing. It’s sweet and malty with a slight roasty/smokey note and a little chocolate. The flavors seem very subdued. Medium bodied and smooth.

This beer was tasted as Nashville Brewing Company 3 Thread Porter. Best by 07-01-06. This porter pours a deep brown color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is coff and chocolate, touch of vanilla. Medium bodied porter. Malts are chocolate and coffee, with a touch of fruit. Hops are a touch grapefruity. Nice balance. Smooth and mellow. Nice carbonation. Perhaps it is a touch thin tasting in the mouth for a porter, but an easy drinking beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and chocolate.
