Porter is a dark-coloured beer developed in the 1750s. Porter has a heavier flavour and aroma and a slightly sweet taste. Its name probably originates in the belief that this strong, nourishing drink was ideal for hard-working porters and labourers. Black Creek Porter is wonderful on its own, or with salty snacks.

Pours a dark brown colour with a small bubbly cap, dosn't last,no lacing. Not a lot going on in the aroma department.Flavour is a little better,a hint of roasted malt, weak coffee and nutty. To me this is an average porter at best.

Nice roasted malt aroma and after taste. Thin tan head that did not last long. No lacing on my clean glass. For a porter I think it is a little light (for my taste).

Bottle: Pours a clear brown ale in the glass. Smallish light brown cap. Aromas of roast grains some grassiness, light malt sweetness. Mouth feel is weak but brew is flavorful...roastiness, moderate bittering, fast clean finish dries and bitters. Relatively 2 dimensional and a let down after the cask version.

The beer poured a black colour with brown edges and a thin light brown head. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and reminded me of breakfast. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was watered down cold coffee, some molasses, and a decent bitter finish.

If this is where the Ontario craft beer industry is heading, I certainly want to be along for the ride. This is a great porter. A black pour with a creamy dark brown head. Tons of coffee and roasted malt make up the aroma and flavour, with some licorice in the flavour. Very well balanced and not too bitter.

500ml brown bottle. Pours a dark brown cola-looking colour with a nice creamy beige cap that lasts a while and creates a bit of lace. Beautiful coffee and chocolate smell at first, but after breathing, sweet butterscotch comes out. Medium-bodied and refreshing mouthfeel. Mild sweet taste (notes of maple syrup) with a nutty finish and coffee appearing in the aftertaste. A little bitterness is felt. Quite a well-blended, easy-drinking porter.
