Basil complements hops and adds a nice 'green' taste. Med body, crisp, good honey character, much better/brighter honey flavor than other 'honey' brews... Not a lot of basil in the aroma, i find it more late in the aftertaste. Minty/apple flavors (its basil!)... Simple, actually very clean tasting beer, not bad, not much else to say

Brought back from Vegas by Lilihel. Pours a clean dark amber colour with an off-white head, good retention and thick lacing. Wow ! What a beautiful nose. Maybe because I am a big basil fan. Yes, basil smell with a little sweetness from the honey in the background. Hints of alcohol and ginger. The taste is not as sweet as expected with the organic malt forefront. Then, some lightly rusty hop. Can't say I am a fan of the flavours though. Great original aromas and style !!

ok beer from Bison. The basilaftertaste (and aroma once the beer warmed) worked surprisingly well, but the light (ie-watery) honey ale flavor, while refreshing, was a touch generic and left me wanting a little more. not bad, though.

Sampled on 6/15/2010. Tasted on tap at Beer Revolution. This spiced ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, honey and herbal. A medium bodied spiced golden ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, with some honey and cereal. The hops are herbal and slightly spicy. Decent carbonation. You can definitely taste the honey and the basil. Light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

An amber colored beer with a small creamy textured, off white head with not much hang time. It settles into a moderate ringlet. A nose of honey sweetness. A tasteness of honey and herbal spicenessModerate bodied and smooth. Really nice.

I bought this beer after hearing about it on New Brew Thursday. I was not really up for a basil beer and am not a big fan of honey beers, but this beer was great. It poured amber color with a white head, you could smell and taste both the basil and honey. The great thing is the honey sweetness is tamed by the basil. I cannot wait to try this again with Italian food.

Nothing too exciting going on here. Really not that into summer/spring brews. I like basil and figured would be interesting to try, which it is. Kind of reminds me of tea....a hoppy malty tea. Smooth and refreshing, pairing it with a slow cooked pot roast (cooked with Bell's Double Cream Stout). This is decent, but don't know if I'd get again. Not the biggest fan of honey beers anymore.

Brought back by BrotherBrando- poured a clear orange with plenty of carbonation. Suprising though that it doesn't leave much of a head. Aroma is pizza like- definately basil, maybe some oregano. Taste has nutmeg flavour more then anything. A bit on the dryer side. It's really hard for me to make anything of it, when its such an odd flavour. Very little fruit at all.

Here's a beer that tastes like pesto. A very interesting flavor with the basil. I'd definatly like to share this with some of my buddies. I bet this beer goes well with pizza or spaghetti or mozzerella. Cheers!

Pours a rather light amber color, with a thin, whitish head. The uniqueness of this beer really makes it worth drinking at least once. The smell is sweet with basil. The strong basil flavor as you swallow isn't as strange as I thought it waould be. Leaves no aftertaste. Not bitter at all. Very smooth.
