Exuberant, effervescent, sweet Cassissona, the beer with a punch, has a rich, complex fruity aroma - primarily black currant - besides other innovative and intense flavors and scents. It was designed for several very special situations, and is best when served with fruit desserts or - another valid alternative - savory cheeses. A certain "winy" flavor makes it perfect for "Cantucci" cookies from Siena, for instance.

Bottled@The 2nd ES/CS Beer Tasting. (thanks MM!). Hazy orangeish golden colour with small fluffy head. Aroma is sour berries, some wood and mild notes of yeast. Flavour is quite similar with also some grains and fruity notes. Actually gets a bit better once warming up a bit. Pleasant fruit/berry beer.

Shared amongst friends at Italian dinner. Pours a hazy amber/ruby orange with a effervescent head which dissipates leaving some nice lacing. Sweet cherries and currants in the aroma with a sweet Belgian yeastiness and a nice sweet maltiness. Taste is initially slightly sweet then rich with the malts with a very slight cherry and currant tartness. Nice Italian ale that was a great aperitif with various cheeses.

Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad. ABV was 6.4%. Hazy golden colour, huge head. Pleasant aroma of blackcurrants and hops. Moderately fruity flavour (blackcurrants), light bodied for a 6.4% beer.

Pours a cloudy, chunky amber although it’s been sitting upright and undisturbed for a while now. Soft fruitiness and esters and a touch of malt. The body is heavily carbonated, but the flavor is fairly soft malts and fruits.

This poured with a cloudy dark orange body and a massive head. The aroma is currants with some raisins and a little hint of caramel and peanuts. The taste has some dry currants and a little bit of prunes. There is also a underlying note of walnuts and some light caramel. it starts out sweet then finishes with some sweat and dryness. A decent fruit beer that screams to have some cheese on the side. I see the bottle also recommends fruit. I could see that.
