a nice offering from Big Sky, if not one of their best (i'll hafta check)...definitely one of the better 6-packs. aroma and flavor robust as advertised, mainly roast & chocolate, with hints of smoke, licorice and maybe coffee. not bad on the feel either.

Aromas of coffee beans, roasted malt, and a very slight fruitiness. Body is thick and black, with a decent thick tan cap, that left some ok lace. Flavor was coffee, with touches of chocolate malts, also it had some burnt and acidic qualities which took a little getting used to. Overall a nice porter but the acidity kept it from scoring higher.

Nice on from trade with the G-Man - Stoutlover. Nice black pour with an ample tight head and nice lacing. Roasted malts, cocoa, coffee, slight smoke and a very slight acidic smell in the aroma. Taste is roasted malts upfront with bittersweet chocolate, some black coffee, a bit of smokiness, and a slight acidic sweetness with a dry slightly bitter finish. Drinks more like a stout. Thanks Garrett. The little dog on the label reminds me of my brother's-in-law little pooch, Lucky.

The beers I keep getting from Big Sky recently have really made a solid impression on me. I’ll keep exploring the different styles they have and finding some seriously hidden gems, as long as they keep making it.
The beer pours out a solid black color with a 1" rising tan head. The head dissipated down to about 1/2" for most of the bottle. Dark chocolate, coffee, a touch of smoke and ash like the smell of a cooled bbq show up in the aroma. Flavor exlodes with dark chocolate, coffee, earthy malts, subtle vanilla along with the aforementioned smoke and ash. It actually works really well with this beer and is very restrained. Very nicely done. -

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown black with a large creamy brown head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet chocolate malts, some acidic coffee and some smoke. It all washes out quickly other than acidic leather.
The flavor is roasted malts with very acidic coffee and a burnt bitterness at the end. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and la little watery.
Overall, I remember liking previous bottle much more than this. This one seems to have a lot of off notes and is very acidic.
