XO is a pilsner-styler lager with a light body and golden colour. It has a long-lasting, creamy head and a full, rich flavour. Its clean, crisp, well-defined finish is due to the finest Saaz hops from the Czech Republic. It might just be the most authentic pilsner you've ever tasted.

Big Rocks weak attempt to make a pilsner beer... pours clear yellow... very dry.. no taste that I would write home about.. nothing that really offers itself over a cheaper pils... pretty cool can tho.

Bought this one at The Beer Store in a variety 12-pack. XO, giving the impression of aged (like cognac), but not really. Talks about this on back label but does not mention anything about how long (so not really important and credible). Small white head, not lasting long, with a few wet spots of lace. Golden colour with little carbonation. Smells like wet hay and pee. Wet mouthfeel, wishing it was at least crisp (for a lager). Nope. A little bit of grass is felt to save the day, in the taste. Other than that, not much else. Short finish and overly boring.

Very decent Canadian Lager. I had four with Thanksgiving dinner!! Very smooth, bit of bite but not bitter, moderate carbination. Goes well with turkey. Bit thin of the mouthfeel. Not bad

Brew looks crystal clear and very light gold, minimal cap that did leave behind some lacing. Aroma had a smooth sourness to it and the typical apple from the Czech style hops. Taste hit the style right on, they proclaim this to be a Czech style pilsner and they got it, dark but light tasting malt, apple style hops, and a sweet bready finish. Brew is very drinkable but there are so many other beers I’d rather drink.

Quickly: Standard gold with some white cap , ring left over, no lacing. Taste: grain, grass, barley, minimal sweetness. Aroma: Some stink (minor), mild, pee, grass. Smells rank near quarter full glass. Mouthfeel: not smooth, not rough, light bodied, almost over carbonated, weak dry flavourless aftertaste, touch of bitterness. Average barely. Did this even come out in bottles? That's a bad sign.

My new favourite swill,a nd Big rock's best. Great classic prairie pilsner. I'm gonna lament when this 6 pack is gone. Equally as great out of the can as out of the glass.

New brand from Big Rock. Nice looking label, bright blue with a realistic picture of the Okotoks Big Rock. Pours clear yellow gold color with a white head. Foam disappeared quickly down to a thin ring around the edge of the glass. No lacing to speak of. Not much smell other than some grainy malt. Some sharp flavor, graininess, dry and ever so slightly sour finish. Slight hop at the end. Mouthfeel is a bit watery and thin. As a lager beer, I guess it isn't supposed to be really heavy and flavor filled (overly malty or overly hopped). I would have liked more complexity, parallel to other big name, hot weather brews.
