Drank at Distortion bar in Calgary, October 2016 when we played there. Biscuit malt aromas with hints of soapy hops. Very mild tasting malts. Was the cheapest beer in the bar. Did the job that night. About it.

Can. Colour - deep gold, very clear, frothy white head which quickly disappears, no ;acing. Aroma - wet cardboard, stale bread, maybe a musty hop note or two. Mouthfeel - thin bodied, well carbonated. Flavour - very grainly, some metallic off-flavours, no hops.

At work as Mantles Genuine Draft, really BR just gives us this beer for a ridiculous cheap rate and its brewed just across town (on contract at Kamloops Brewing). Thin bodied, malty with just a slight skiff of a slightly reisounous hop. Light in color, and exhibits characteristics of straw. Not a bit skunky but regularly presents something kind of off, kinda like the water from a green pepper.... if that exists.... cornish sometimes. hmmm

Review done straight out of the can as I wait in my friend’s apartment hallway for him to come home. I’ll assume this looks like beer because the can is not see through. Smells of metallic corn, mild hay and some less than impressive hops actually not that bad for a bargain beer. Taste is light and crisp with zero skunk or rotten malt flavours. Light grassy malts with a very mild metallic/hop finish, the sweet after taste lingers forever. For the price this aint that bad, I’m not saying this was an awesome beer but for cheap ass bargain canned swill this was drinkable.

ADG.... er... OK.
Ya, it's pretty much junk but what do you expect from something called Alberta Genuine Draft? At least there is no attempt to make this look like something it's not. Yellowish beer producing almost no head - just drink it out of the can. Grain and lots of corn and some metallic aroma, taste is not much different except for some bleck hops. Thin mouthfeel, highly carbonated. Goes down pretty well. It's cheap! -

This is a very bad product from a craft brewer that is highly reputed in Western Canada. The beer was very pale yellow in colour (enough I thought somebody had pissed in the bottle at the factory. The odour was extremely non-existent. I was scared to drink it but had nothing to worry about, a watery mouthfeel and no taste...how offensive can that be.

My impression of this beer may have a lot to do with the environment I tasted it in and the fact I only had one in a desparate need for a beer. I had one at the foot of the glacier in Cameron lake in Waterton park (a beautiful mountain postcard of a place) after a 3 klick hike to the US side of the lake and back................... Sorry, but I had a can that I poured into a tin cup and the true color may differ from my impression of it being way too pale for a draft type beer. No cap that stayed and no visible lacing. Medium-light body, slick mouthfeel and no rough edges as if smoothed in cold aging process ( although I doubt they could do that at this price)......... The aroma was nearly undetectable but the taste was nice and smooth with a nice bready malt after taste. If they use some adjuncts to cheapen the costs and make this a pogue-boy beer, it was not detectable or well buried in this thin-bodied but malty beer. One of the better draft-style standard mega beers out there. To me, it came off well for what BR had intended this brew to be....a smooth, mild-tasting draft style affordable beer for chugging on a hot day or after a work out. Workin’ man’s canned draft...does Johnny Paycheck know about this Canuck beer?...He may switch from his Colorado cool-ade ;-)

Snagged this little gem out of someones case when they were riding the porcelain bus. It actually has a suprisingly good taste for a rather cheap price. If you're tired of drinking Lucky Lager I'd definitely reccomend checking this out.

An solid little choice, what I liked about it was the price and pure alberta label, good to see the boys in ALBERTA can brew themselfs a tasty treat. We dont see enough of it in Manitoba but hopefully more of it will be coming our way.

Only available in cans, pours yellowy gold color. No real head or foam stability. This is designed as a lower cost option from Big Rock to compete with other macro-type lagers. As far as that goes, it is pretty good. Slight grainy smell, easy to drink, no aftertaste, fresh and clean. Don't expect anything fancy, nothing special in the smell or taste, it isn't there and it isn't supposed to be there. Slightly higher quality beer at a lower quality price.
