j'avais l'impression de boire du bacon fumé. that was the first that I drank this beer. really impressive. very dark beer, great aroma, j'aurais souhaité la boire en mangeant du bacon, juste pour voir calisse.

A dark brown to black appearance. A very smokey aroma on this one. Some malt presence in the flavor but tons of smoke. I taste me some bacon, brats, and jimmy dean sausage. It really balances the malt and smoke well. However if you dont like smokey beers stay far away. I love them myself. Overall a very nice beer!

THis beer happened to fall into my lap from a friend in Quebec. This is a very dark beer, almost black. The head is foamy, brownish, and short-lived. The aroma is smoked wood, with some roasted malt and caramel. The flavour is roasted malt, and some coffee bitterness.

Bottle: Poured a deep pitch-black color porter with a medium brown foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of smoked malt is well balance with some rich roasted malt with hint of sweetness. Taste of smoked is very well balance with some rich and creamy lightly bitter roasted malt. Body is really full with a creamy texture and some medium carbonation. I am really impressed by this one since I generally don’t like smoked beers.

Bottle: Poured a deep dark light-defying brown....as Sege said there are some ruby highlights that show at the base or stem of the glass. Frothy fine pored mocha colored cap lasts and laces well. Aroma is glorious! I like smoked beers but this one is celestial in the mingling of aromas....smoke, toast, coca, coffee, figs...very much like a toasted chocolate bundt cake. Medium full bodied, smooth, rich and oily mouth feel, big mellow character. Up front a big chew on toasted chocolate malts... like smoked brownies with dates in it..enough smoke and hops to make a perfect balance and stave off any cloying from such rich malting. As it warms it becomes more complex and you get more subtle secondary smells and tastes..dried fruits, nuts, smoked toffee..excellent. Impression: This is a wonderful smoky, chocolaty smooth and satisfying brew with excellent drinkability ( hides its alcohol completely) World class effort here.
