Part of an annual Christmas pack available at the LCBO. This pours a slightly less red than the Dark, although the head tends to be larger. The aroma is slightly fruity with notes of ropasted malt, caramel, and yeast. RThe flavour is like the aroma, with a very bitter long lasting aftertaste.

Orange colour pour. Small head was gone before first taste. Left no lacing. Sweet fruity aroma. Nice taste but too sweet for me. Candy in a glass. Medium mouthfeel.Think my girlfriwnd would like this.

From bottle: orange pour, big head which quickly reduces to a cap, almost too carbonated at first, little lacing. Light earthy and Belgian yeast aromas, light bubble gum and spice, stale earthy hops. Flat mouthfeel. Mild and subtle flavor, a touch stale, could be an older bottle, sweet malts, Belgian yeasts, lightly spiced. Forgettable.

At 7%, the light beer in the Christmas pack. A copper coloured pour, off-white head, and somewhat clear. Aroma combines caramel malt and roasted malt together with a hint of yeast. Flavour is 'heavy', sweet, but has the most bitter finish of the three.

    330ml bottle

The beer poured a translucent golden red colour with a 1/2" light brown head. The aroma was grainy malt, light fruits, yeast, caramel, and some floral hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is sweet malt, some light fruit (pears maybe), with a nice bitter finish.

Thought this would be better than this, being a Belgian and all...but was just eh. Rather thin, and lacking a full flavor. Felt and tasted more like an amber than a red. Appearance is a light red, not quite amber. Aroma rather forgetable. Taste is ok, some belgian characteristics...just kinda weak. You get what you pay for in most cases, this being a case where I would spend and extra buck or two for something of better quality.

Almost rosé,but seriously rather tawny...Apple aroma with hints of alcohol. The typical belgium yeast gives a fuit punch bubble gum flavor quite entertaining beer...Good at 12 to 15 celsius, well balance great bitterness, alcohol well hidden...

330ml bottle Pours a hazed orange-amber ale with a massive sticky cap in the glass. Aroma produces the most amazing mango-orange rind-spice pungency...some mustiness mingles with sweetness. Light body,, slick mouth feel sweet orange and spice tastes are dominant...this is pleasant although distinctly synthetic and un-ale like....then the finish is over powered by alcohol and candi sweetness...fusil tastes dominate and warming starts quickly....poor at hiding the alcohol, cheap synthetic fruit flavor and the candi tastes...this isn’t my drink.

Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is apricot, plum and riped apples along with some slight alcoholic hints. Flavour is sour fruits and a lot of apricot. Alcohol gives a small warming feeling. Easy drink and hides the alcohol well.

This Belgian strong has a spicy aroma, as well as having the usual Belgian yeast. Its rather subdued, merely average. Looks alright, burnt orange-red body. Lots of little things floating around in there, its quite hazy. The head is off-white. There is a fair amount of it, and it likes to stick around. Laces well.

The spice from the aroma is present in the taste as well, and just as the aroma it seems to be subdued. Fairly malty, and perhaps some fruit in the taste as well, but its too passive to boast about anything. The mouthfeel is lacking, a bit watery and quite carbonated. It does leave a pleasent bitterness to it, not attacking the tongue but not being as subdued as the rest of the brew.

I don't know what it is, but this one seems to be holding back. It is certianly not bad, but there are many better Belgians out there. Merely average, but I can't dismiss it totally, so if its all thats around it will do in a pinch (but not in a bushel).
