Bellwoods blog about this beer: http://bellwoodsbrewery.com/the-deal-with-jutsu/ Jutsu is the result of a series of trials (1-5) pairing two different yeasts with slightly different hop/malt profiles. In the end we chose a derivation of Jutsu No. 5 to be the final Jutsu. This pale ale is beautifully balanced with low bitterness and notes of grape, cantaloupe, citrus, and nectarine. Refreshing and super drinkable!

The beer pours a very hazy light orange gold with a short-lived large bubbly head. The aroma is tropical fruit, musty hops, and biscuit malt. It’s definitely juicy. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is equally fruity with the grains and bitterness very well hidden. This could become a favourite. -

Can that pours a hazy light golden-yellow colour with an orange hue. Bubbly off-white head leaving a tad foam all around the ring. Big fruity aromas with pineapples, oranges, hints of tropical fruits and mild grassy hops. The taste is fruity as well with all of these fruits and some decent hops in the finish. Bitterness lingering, but not crazy strong. A nice juicy Pale Ale with more a little more hops than most.

Picked up a bottle at the brewpub. Pours a nice big frothy off-white head and has a cloudy golden orangey appearance. Some decent sticky lacing. Aromas are very fruity, lots of tropical fruits, floral hops, hints of pineapple. Flavours are equally fruity with tropical fruit notes being quite abundant. Bananas, mangos, as well as some pineapple notes in the finish. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. A little bit grassy with faint hints of yeast. Great retention. Lively carbonation. Perfect hot summer day brew. Good stuff!
