Presentation: This is one of six beers from an eighteen pack labeled Beer of America, Historical Collection. The 18 pack also came with a nice book titled, The History of Beer in America. It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. There appears to be no freshness date on the bottle. Appearance: It has an amber colored body with some visible carbonation. The head on top is light, fluffy and tall. It is off white in color and it is slows to fade, leaving some spotty lacing on the glass as I drink. Smell: The aroma is full of lemony citrus and leafy hops with sweet candy like sweet malt flavors underneath. Also I am picking up a light mineral like presence. Taste/Palate: Leafy and mineral hop notes are up first with some smooth buttery, sweet honey and caramel malts in the middle. The finish has moderate hop bitterness and lemony/orange citrus hops as well as more odd mineral notes. It has a solid medium body with lively, almost fizzy carbonation. Notes: The only thing that comes close the style is the appearance. After that it goes way off the map. It is drinkable but boring and I have noticed that all the beers in this mixed 18 pack are oddly similar to each other. The best part of this 18 pack is the book that came with it.

This is the fourth of the ‘Beers of America’ from Minhas. A cloudy amber colored ale. The soapy white head is weak without any hang time. Not much lacing once settled. Not getting much in the aroma. Some sweetness, some corn? All too weak to properly discern. There’s some body on the palate. Some smoothness. The taste is an interesting malt with a citrus infusion. It is an interesting ale, but not one I’d recommend.

Pours a nice light amber color with a decent head leaving good lacing. Some carbonation. Aromas of slightly roasted malts and a decent hop is noticed. Taste is slight toasted malts with a slight hops finish.

From the opening of the bottle there is a heavy wheat smell, which is almost on the sour smelling side. The taste was pretty heavy on the wheat and I didn't find it all that enjoyable.

A good looking beer pale amber with white head and lacing. There was too much wheat in the aroma and flavor for me. I missed the fresh flavor and arona that I enjoy in a steam style

The aroma is nice with some bitter notes with maybe some slight caramel or oak and is slightly hoppy as well as sweet. The appearance is a nice, red amber to a rustic orange when held to the light and is crisp with a head on top that is small and minimal and discipates to a thin lacing that coats the glass relatively well and is white in color. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and not too bad at all with some decent malty complexity with some good balance with a palate that is smooth and coats well. The flavor is malty and sweet with some caramel notes and maybe some very faint grain or some slight hoppiness with an aftertaste that is smooth and malty and a bit caramelly with a finish that is relatively refreshing and is wet-like and pretty good. Overall, this is not a bad brew and is decent but nothing special with nice hoppiness coming through; very decent stuff here and could be argued this would be a good session brew...maybe anyway.

my first of a new style! malty, hops, yeasty and little else going on. however, its a good session beer is what my notes say, which is a term i think i stole from mike however a few of the previous raters seem to agree.

Copper hue with a modest head and sparse lacing. Muted aroma-malts with perhaps a little bubblegum and spice. Light bodied and the flavor was weak as was the carbonation-lightly fruity with some caramel, a touch of sourness and a short finish. Supposedly a "steam" style beer ala Anchor Steam, this one could definitely use some tweaking. Not unpleasant, just washed out.

This brew pours with an amber body topped by a thin head with some lacing. The aroma is slighlty bitter, woody and hoppy with a slight underlying maltiness. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a slight grassy hoppiness. Light to medium bodied and smooth.
