Deep blonde in colour, Barbãr’s creamy head gives off a powerful aroma, unobtrusively scented with honey and accompanied by a bouquet of floral, spicy and citrus notes.. Brewed with water, natural honey, bitter orange, coriander, wheat, malted barley, Hallerftau and Styrian hops and...passion.

The beer poured a pale gold with a thick, foamy, white head that lasted. The aroma was grainy malt, and a little honey. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour was more grainy malt, some milky tones, and a little honey. Nothing spectacular about this one.

Not sure if this contains actual honey or not. It pours a deep gold colour with a thin white cap. The aroma is quite grainly with notes of spices, especially coriander and pepper. There is no noticeable alcohol in the nose or palate despite the 8% ABV. Flavour is noticeable spice with grain notes and a touch of malty sweetness.

Good color with strong white foam head. Although I usually don’t like these sweetened beers, this one is different. I realy like it, there is bitter beer taste and yet sweet honey. (Utrecht 201203)

It pours a slightly hazy burnt-orange and amber with a 1/4-inch thick white head and copious lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, honey, orange and citrus, bread and yeast, and an excellent combination of spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and fairly rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, honey, oranges and citrus, peach and light mango, and a nice combination of spices. Tasty and good for the price ..

Aromas and flavors of honey, grainy malts, mild floral notes, and very faint traces of fruit. Mouthfeel was smooth and it had some alcohol in the finish. Overall a nice beer, but due to the sweetness I wouldn't have too many in a row.

A cloudy orange-brown colored beer with a big fluffy textured, off white head rising above. A fair amount of hang time on this one. A thick creamy cap is eventually left behind. A light wheaty, yeast, spice nose. Pretty much the same in the tasting, though a little deeper and the honey kicks in on the end. Medium bodied, effervescent. Really turned out to be pretty good

This beer was bursting with aroma.. Filled the whole room up with banana and honey and coriander. Pours a hazed light orange with a very nice head that lasted. Wonderful balanced carbonation with a very crisp finish that was smooth.. I got a massive banana flavor with this and a wonderful hop backbone, a good amount of spice. I was quite surprised by this beer and I really hope to drink it again soon...

Barbar Belgian Honey Ale 2.2 cheapdark Barbar: Peculiar name. Weirdly sweet tripel aroma, nearly plastic. Just enough sediment to make it cloudy; somewhat between a cloudy hefe and a pale lager. Thin half inch creamy white alabaster head. Fairly strong initial taste bud hit. Probably tastes around 8% as stated. When I saw on the label it was brewed with spices, coriander and orange peel, I thought of a wheat beer. One sip lets you know this is not a typical wheat beer. Strong ale fer sure, possibly even a tripel, an American tripel that is. I never saw this before and now I see there are a half dozen kinds of barbar. In case you didn’t know, Barbar is said to be based on the old Viking alcoholic beverage called Mid. No data is easily retrieved about mid, tho if its viking, and an alky drink; guess what? Although the recipe for this beer is a closely kept secret of Lefebvre, and the origins of this beverage, as stated by Lefebvre, are from an old family recipe. Originating from a Viking beverage may also be the reason for calling this brand "Barbar" (like barbarian) and putting a female barbarian drawing as a logo. I find the beer just a typical strong Belgie, tripel or not. Has the attributes of many a Belgie and its not too bad going down. Finish is tripel like a Belgie fer sure but now I know why its in the strong Belgie ale style. S6L3F2T4O9

This pours a nice golden colour with a thick white head. The aroma light a fruity...some citrus notes, with some hoppy hints. The flavour is potent, some alcohol taste comes through and overpowers the malt and honey - what there is of it.
