Rated from growler from 1st or 2nd batch made and it was never this good again :(. Big thanks to dcschiller for sharing this growler. It poured out with a clear copper body that supports an off white head. The aroma is big and inviting with a mix of grapefruit peel, yummy dank onions and some floral hop notes to go along with a modest degree of pale maltiness. The taste is crisp and loaded with fresh hoppy goodness. I get rich snappy and yummy grapefruit mixed with dank shallot as well as a modest level of floral hops and maltiness. Dang. The crisp hop boost is just game changing. A solid Pale Ale body and the easy fresh clean drinking sessionability of this thing is spot on. Wow. Gotta be my new favorite Pale. . . .

355 ml can, as Ballast Point Grunion IPA, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 5.5%. Slightly gushing can. Slightly hazy orange colour, large white head. The aroma has distinct notes of pine, also notes of grapefruit. Pine / resin and grapefruit in the flavour too, a sharp bitterness in the finish. A slight sweetness of crystal malts.

Pours clear amber with a frothy ivory head. Hoppy aroma wafts from the glass for almost a meter, drawing the avid ale fan in. Close up, it is seriously hoppy, more IPA than "regular" PA, with undertones of malt, wet hay and fruit. Flavor has firm hoppy and malty notes, with malt stronger than in the aroma, and fruit and hay notes that are shy but make their appearances. Texture is typical, but pleasing.

Clear straw coloured pour with a thin head that leaves ok lacing. Aroma is caramel, melon, fruity and pine. Flavour follows the nose although the caramel and melon are a little weaker. Also has a flavour of grass, is a little medicinal and floral. Tasty pale ale, a little like an English IPA.

I picked this beer up from the Barrel Chest in Roanoke, VA. This is my new favorite Pale Ale. Wonderful hop bill (citrus and floral notes), an underwhelming abv, and a nice aroma (tracks the aroma of the hop bill). Well done.

Lower abv than I prefer, but a nice blend of fruity tropical and citrus hops, with hints of spice and malt. Easy drinking, yet better than average in style.
