Sampled on 10/16/2012. This porter pours a very dark brown color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is roasty, coffee and some chocolate. A medium bodied porter. The malts are roasty, coffee and chocolate. The hops are earthy and floral. Decent carbonation. A touch of vanilla and a hint of smoke. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Well.... Well... Well... Don't let the ratings before me fool ya this is a great porter and should be had by all.

Smells of a lovely roasted barley factory with some berries and wood. Pours dark brown with a tannish head. Full body with a great carbonation and a smooth and dry finish. Flavor was coffee, chocolate, a hint of berries, malty but not overly sweet, a little bit of wood and a hint of vanilla. This was a great porter and a great beer!

This one pours a blackened blood body with a faint khaki head. This is really good, actually. It has rich chocolate and a slight coffee aroma and flavor. This is a pick of the litter.

Y'know, Beav, I noticed the same thing. I had this on tap and thought it was excellent. From the 22 oz. bomber, though, it was a little lackluster. From the tap, it's deep mahogany in your pint glass. Smells delicious, tastes smoky and peaty, with a nice hops presence. For some reason, from the bottle, it's just more bland. Regardless, if you like porters, I think you should try this for yourself.

The Peak One pours a dark black with mahongany highlights. It has a light brown head that quickly dissipated to a thin film and collar that laced the glass a little.

The aroma is of roasted malts and chocolate.

The taste is rather bland. I remember it being more flavorful on tap. It has a very watery mouthfeel. The flavor is some roasted malt initially with a bitter coffee-like finish.

Like the Telemark IPA, this seems a lot different than the beer I had on tap at the brewery. At the brewery, I remember it being a very nice porter. Out of this bottle, it is a very disappointing, bland brew.
