Clear amber w/ off-white foam head. Aroma is barley, sweet. Sweet honey barley taste. Not too outspoken. No aftertaste to speak off either, bit flat beer. (Velp 201409)

Malty aroma has a yeasty tone and a definite note of honey - real honey, homegrown honey. Pours a pretty clear dark amber, bordering on honey-brown, with a fairly thick pale wheat head. Satisfying malty flavor has a firm note of honey, plus hints of caramel and hops. Firm texture has a subtle but lively fizz and leaves a honey-sweet malty finish. That’s my buzz.

Grabbed a single of this along with their Nake Pig Pale Ale. I liked that one better. This is on the thin side for a brown. Lack of malt is lack of flavor. There is a honey and nutty theme going on, just wish there was some more malt. Drinkable and refreshing...just an average (at best) brown ale.

A bright amber colored beer with a two finger fluffy textured, white head rising briefly above. Settles into a light soapy ringlet. A peppery, nut nose. Honey is pronounced in the tasting. Caramel malt. The sweetness is balanced with floral hops. Light bodied. Interesting. Tried and will not again.

This is a horrendous beer, and scores far more appropriately on RateBeer than it does here. Definitely more of an amber than a brown ale, quite thin. A definite absence of nutty aromas normally associated with the style. Couldn't finish it, the sour tang mentioned in the many RateBeer reviews is quite strong.

An average brown ale at best. The colour is more of a rust colour than a brown, and the head is thin, and light tan in colour. Aroma consists of nuts, caramel, honey, spices, and some citrusy hops. Flavour is a tad on the sour side, never a good thing for a Honey Brown ale. Another imbalance occurs with the hops in this beer.

Finally picked up some for myself... pours amber - a little on the darker side with a two-finger light tan head and lacing o'plenty. The honey flavor and aroma is pronounced and very pleasant. Malty and mildly - ever so mildly hoppy. Clean finish. Re-rate - 8 May 2011: Off the tap... (finally) - all of the good ness from the bottle was more pronounced.

From in-person trade with fargingbastige6: nice clear amber pour with a medium head and plenty of lacing. Aromas of sweet and very slightly roasted malts, honey, some nuts and slight floral hops. Taste is slightly sweet honey upfront then earthy nuts and slight hops bitter finish. Another good beer from this deep South upstart brewery. Thanks Curtis!
