Our light copper pale ale has a delicate malt attribute balanced by an aggressive hop flavor and aroma. Many American micros have developed their own version of this classic English style beer. Our brewers anticipate that you will enjoy their variation. Hikers on the Appalachian Trail are considered "purist hikers" if they cover every inch of the trail during the hike. Our brewers refuse to compromise the quality of our products with the "purist hiker" in mind.

Best part - it was free, well I did have to pay for the social event, but they had some tasty fresh roast beef, too... but the beer, off the tap it was a dull amber and not very exciting. Little head - no lacing - very lackluster. Hops were decidedly missing. Not entirely hateful, but not within keeping of the higher traditions of brewing.

This American Pale Ale pours a medium copper amber color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, toast and a touch of hops. A light to medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are caramel, toffee and a touch bready. The hops are a little mild for an APA, a touch grapefruity and citrusy. Decent carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours with an orange-amber body topped by a thick head with lots of lacing. The aroma is slighlty sweet yet bitter and grapefruity with a nice malty undertone. The flavor is slightly sweet with a slight bitterness and an odd grassy note. Medium bodied and dry.

One can usually judge a brewpub by first getting their pale ale and then going from there. I sound repetitious but this style is consistent with the rest of their beers, bland, weak, watery.

Tasted a sample (4 of 8) with lunch at the Appalachian Brewing Company, Harrisburg, PA. Beautiful amber color and inviting, hoppy aroma. Taste was as expected for the style, if a bit watery. Decent body and a pleasant finish. Not my first choice in Pale Ales, but the best beer available at ABC.

Pours an amber color with an off white head and some nice lacing. Mild aroma of hops, some spice and malt as well. Bitter hop taste, mouth puckering in fact, with not much malt to back it up. This was fairly one dimensional, it is a good thing I like hops.
