We’re hardworking people here at Amager Bryghus. Only once in a while are we lazy bastards. But it happens. We have to admit that we were lazy when we designed this beer. One malt, one hop – albeit a good one – and then our house yeast. Well, how hard can it possibly be to create a sessionable American Pale Ale? And that’s what we’re offering you here. Sometimes brewing is hard work. Sometimes it’s a work of art. And then sometimes it’s a walk in the park. Take a stroll, sit and relax on a park bench in the sun and be lazy with us. We promise you won’t regret it. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it. Brewed simply from pilsener malt and Simcoe hops and fermented with an American yeast strain.

July 2012: 500 ml bottle, batch #435, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Intense aroma of Simcoe hops, notes of citrus, peaches and tropical fruits, hints of resin and catpiss. Light bodied. The flavour is dominated by Simcoe hops from start to finish, with resinous and citrussy notes. Very bitter finish and aftertaste, nearly medicinal. It would probably be a better idea to use pale ale malts instead of pilsner malts in this beer. Very tasty as it is, though.

Pours clear topaz with a thick and fairly persistent eggshell head. Aroma features shy malty and hoppy notes - should I say lazy notes? ;) Flavor presents more malt, more hops, some honey-like sweetness and some evergreen bitterness. Mouthfeel offers firm body, fair fizz, and a woody hop finish. A little sin never hurt anybody, so get laid back.
