Nice mix of honey and white grape sweetness, and light funk (though more pronounced than Victor). A rare blend of refresher and contemplative sipper. Very nice.

bought when first released, so a few years old .. . Pours a murked yellow tan .. honey, smashed grapes, gravel, and musk with quite a bit of cellared dust .. . smooth, a tad boozy and a bit muddled.. . i am sure this was decent when fresh but aging didn't seem to do a thing.. . It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to have to paint it..

Aroma - malty foundation but it ramps up from there. Slightly funky/lemony, grapes, woody, musty with an old orange smell.
Appearance - dark golden body, cloudy with an initial 1" head but wound up being half that in a matter of several seconds.
Taste - grapes and oranges seem to be at the forefront, so this one is incredibly fruity (Fruity Pebbles came to mind). The alcohol is noticeable with this one. Spices are evident in the finish, which was nice...kinda takes the sting off the carbonation.
Palate - carbonation seems to peg on overload, not really enjoyable
Overall - palate issues aside, this was a very nice beer, more enjoyable that Victor but still just priced WAY, WAY too high to be a repeat buyer. -

Sampled 8/22/09. This Belgian ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, orange, and sweet with some grape must. A medium bodied Belgian ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. Nice orange and grape flavors. Some funk and must. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nice carbonation. This beer has aged well as this bottle is at least 3 years old. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

I misread the bottle, I thought it was 'Victory' Ale. Nonetheless, it's a good beer. It was well aged too. Sales from this beer went to restoring a historic building, I feel kind of guilty as I was the recipient of this as a gift. The beer poured a hazy orange with a huge fluffy white head. The aroma was slightly off (not an ageable beer?) and was kind of skunky. The taste was amazing however. The malt comes through along with some light fruity sweetness (possibly the grapes?). The finish is a nice bitter finish, not too strong however.

I like it, I like it alot. It's good lookin'. Orange with a white head. It's good drankin'. Smoooooooth. It's a smidge sweet, but that's to cover the alcohol. Allagash never disappoints.

Pours with a crystal clear, golden body topped by a hick quickly disappearing head with some lacing. Sweet and malty with a grassy note. Not much else to it. Light, crisp and a touch dry.

Bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye: Poured a bright yellow color ale with a big foamy head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet white grape juice with some Belgian malt and some yeast. Taste is sweet with a nice mix between Belgian style malt and a yeasty finish. I couldn’t really pick-up the taste of grapes in there. Body was above average with some good carbonation and no alcohol was noticeable. Overall, this is an interesting beer but definitely not the best from this fine brewer.

Poured an orange color with a nice big full finger head w/ great retention, excellent lacing, really a nice looking beer. The aroma jumped out of the bottle upon opening with a huge loud pop, lots of grapes. From the glass, the aroma was grapes mixed in with some apples, some sort of corn meal or something else that I used to feed my hermit crabs. Flavor was grapes, light caramel, some apples, a touch of vanilla. Strong aftertaste of yeast and vitamins, not super pleasing, a detraction from the main flavors. Was expecting something more complex, but this was ok. Mouthfeel wasn't notable.
